I went to Cuba and took some photos of military history shit. Are you interested?
Cuban Missile Crisis stuff?
>>34910233
Pretty sure it illegal for americans to visit Cuba.
>>34910233
heck yeah
>>34910412
Really sure it's not and not everyone is an American. Maybe you didn't know either of those two facts.
This is a tunnel and anti-aircraft system that was built at the National Hotel in response to what the Cuban's thought was going to be a certain US invasion of the Island after Casto declared his communist intentions.

Sup Cuba anon - I also went, 10 years ago. Took a "ferry" (passenger barge) across to the peninsula where that castle Che operated out of for awhile is. Saw a cool canon display. On the walk from the barge dock to the castilo, there was what I think was an R12 divina Russian missile (sans warhead of course) on a trailer, along with a whole heap of other rockets and shit. All just sitting there. Climbed all over it, got some great pics. If this thread is still going tomorrow I'll post some pics. Also in the museum of the revolution, which it looks like you went to, there are many cool gats. Fulgencio batistas engraved astray being a memorable one.

I got so much stuff I'll post over the next week. I hit every military site in Havana and some other stuff.
>>34910640
Me again - looking at your pics, I think the stuff I saw is the very equipment in those posters - as in, the actual same ones! Will post tomorrow - please check back. Will start a new thread if this one is gone.
>>34910233
I sure am, especially with what they have in equipment.
>>34910412
If it was the Cold War, sure. Now a days, it's just the US military personnel, but if you're a civillian, you can enter with no problems, just do it with a plane ticket from the US since you're not allowed to leave Guantanamo.
>>34910653
Please do - if I miss this thread I'll keep an eye out for a new one. Keep the trip so I know. Cuba is nuts for military stuff. And the cops carry makarovs :-)
>>34910233
Post all you have, this is really interesting for me
>>34910233
Hell yeah, man, dump what you have! I never really researched the Cuban military so this stuff is all new to me.
>>34910233
YES
>>34910774
I have hundreds from a few sites. This one will be the tunnels at the National. I have the museum of the revolution, two forts, an armory, and the Case De Che and another site that doesn't really seem to have a name but is along the side of the road.

Bumping for more

>Pretty sure it illegal for americans to visit Cuba.
no

This is where the WWII anti-aircraft gun was mounted looking at the 90 mile gap to the United States. The Cubans were guns guns made 20 years earlier for shooting at prop driven planes in a conflict where they would have seen supersonic B-58 bombers on the attack.
>>34910412
is this fucking bait
>>34911936
Half Cuban here, the guns you are talking about were from Batista's military that were all they had post Castro. The Soviets brought in the real heat as shown in the photos. Those dots with rings were SA-2s.
Looking down the tunnels, which were not lit in the 60s. These tunnels are cement roofed with about a foot of earth on top. They blend into the lawn of the hotel with the only visible makers being air vent escape hatches.
I went a few years ago and I was always hungry the entire time cause all the food was terrible. Saw a cock fight though so it kinda balanced out, they kinda put knives on the fucking roosters.
>>34910412
And I'm pretty sure you are a retard.
>>34912172
I thought the food was great. You must have been eating in crappy places. The lack of toilet seats bothered me more.
The entrance to the gun and tunnel system
>>34912238
hafie again. These pics are cool even if most of it is common knowledge to me at least. The tunnels and trenches were the reason my dad called Cuba a fortresss.
He was one of the old timer exiles, not the newbies who came in the 90s to now. All of these pics and history were the last time he was on the island. One of things he would talk about in relation to this is how little some Americans understood just how much effort was put into the defense or the sheer scale of it. Cuba is a big island. You got to see it in person.

20% of the population lives in Havana. With the soviet support of the 60s and 70s, Cuba was well armed. Today it has a poorly trained military that has 30 year old rusty gear and would have a tough time fighting back an invasion of boy scouts. It's planes sit in hangers, and it's ships are in port all the time.
My prediction is that Cuba will get more cozy with China and China will rebuild its military and ports and it will cause a whole new crisis in the western hemisphere and once again there will be a line drawn.
These tunnels weren't much for the time. In 1917 they would have been a good fortification, but not for what could have hit them in the 60-63
Potato photo, reflection.

Noice

>>34913435
Did people carry flashlights when it wasn't lit?
>>34913493
The guy who led me through said that it was dark. The only light was the little bit around the air escape vents.
>>34913573
That doesn't sound very fun.
>>34913655
nope, and it's hot in there. Cuba is hot and really humid. The heat index was like 44c/112c and hotter in the tunnels.
>>34913687
Ouch.
Got any SA-2 pics?
>>34913698
I got so many more picks coming. I'm keeping them focused to one topic at time. I got pics of the M1 that Che used. I've got pics of fidel's 1911. I got so much stuff.
>>34913721
Poast them
>>34914401
I will, in due time. I have to keep the suspense. That's all for the national hotel tunnels. Maybe more later tonight from the museum of the revolution
>>34914453
K, I've got to go soon, don't let the thread die from dramatic tension.
