This pic rel is FOAB. And it's fuel-air-explosive which can mean weather and wind can affect the yield quite significantly. Note the brief cloud of dispersing fuel vapour, then bang.

the first blast is to spread the fuel. the second blast ignites the fuel and creates a huge shockwave. missing your target by less than 100m is a non-issue.

Video of the pic in the OP, it's a test of a BLU-96, a US bomb, much smaller than FOAB.

Gives you a good look at what it did to the house though.

I'd be surprised if China didn't show their superior bomb of all bombs.
