I couldn't help noticing a similarity to another car I liked modifying and 4x4ing in my younger days.. so I checked the wheelbase on the VBL.

That's 96.45 inches
I did a search and the result was like pottery, pic related
So, I'm going to get a beater 2nd gen Amigo aka Rodeo Sport, and build it into a replica VBL.

Yes, it will be terrible. But I'm just going to strip the car to it's frame, weld a box tube frame for the supports, and then steel plate onto that, grind grind grind until pretty angles and booger welds hidden, and paint. Then just add kitbashed shit to the sides.

The interior will just be comfy Amigo shit. I'll add AR500 armor panel sheeting on the inside and line it with kevlar bomb blankets.

This is probably going to require you to get a tougher transmission than that car came with, or at least be ready to replace it every 50000 miles. You're going to need to custom fabricate the suspension too to deal with all the weight you're putting on that thing-at the very least get some heavier coils. And stronger axles. And if you don't want it to be slow, find a way to boost the engine.

I seriously hope you've got a garage with 5 cars worth of floor space at least. Otherwise I don't think you'll have room to put all the parts your making, the stuff you're making it from, and the machines you're making it with. I've built a small dune buggy from scratch before with a team of like 10 guys and it still took a year to do, and required about that much space. Just to give you an idea of what you're getting into.

It was made to resist up to 14.5mm, but it doesn't mean it's impervious, it's job is to protect from small weapon, and support with it's ma deuce.

He's perfect for what we do in Africa, also, the fact that there is no electronics is a plus imo, mostly because if something's fucked up, I can repair it.

if you are planing on making an actual armerd vertical instead of some miner modifications to the body and repaint. i think you should go for the shortest v8 you can find in your price range that runs and drives as you can find and cut it down to the frame and bulled it back up from there.

Things like this make my dick hard. A RWS .50 is a very effective weapon for engaging infantry, and a spike ATGM is pretty damn effective against just about any vehicle. For such a lightweight package, it really is effective against the large majority of battlefield threats.

Nasically your formation is 3 leclerc tank, with 3 VBL.

The Leclerc always stay together, and the VBL goes around to scout for the Leclerc.

That was the same for us in Africa, our formation ( may it be from 3 VAB to multiples dozen ov véhicles ) was escorted by multiples VBL.

Their job was to scout front of, or around, us.
