Mag capacity and better safeties are about the only reasons. Maks are more reliable and replacement parts and mags are cheaper, and don't forget about the dick grips. I own a bulgy mak and a cz83, love my mak, cz jams a lot and doesn't feel as comfortable. Pic related

Parts are plentiful and mags are cheap for them. The only downside is depending where you live, ammo may not be readily available. In my area only a few stores carry it but 9x18 is cheaper than .380
