It looks like a ww2 civil defence helmet

They're a cool piece of history OP. If your into helmets hand on to it. If not sell it to someone that is.

Nice Zuckerman helmet. Brits kept churning these out for civilian defense units of various types during WW2. After the war they were sold off to a number of countries. I have a couple myself; those two were sold to to the Norwegian Civil Defense and painted yellow. The steel is inferior to combat helmets of the same period and they are tall so the pull can take a blow and compress rather than transfer the hit to the head inside.
