I recently moved (back) to this silly place. It looks like pistol purchase permits are kind of not a thing but kind of are now, but it seems that is all that has changed, gun law wise.
All I remember is that SBS and SBR are legal and that the car laws are dumb. Nothing loaded at all unless you have a CPL and it's a handgun, right? Does ammo have to be in a different compartment or something, too (eg, shotgun in back seat, ammo in trunk)?

Long guns and handguns have to be separated from ammo when in transport. So best bet is gun in trunk ammo in cab.
Can have handgun loaded on you or but only if you have a cpl.

True.

Nonsense, ammo in a range bag and guns in a case is legally "separated", you don't have to put them different parts of the vehicle.
But even that isn't an issue unless the cop wants to be dick to you, a handgun or two in a range bag with the ammo isn't going to be a problem.
