What are some good tips for handgun accuracy?
>>34897595
try aiming down the sights.
Unironically: lift weights.
Shoot a lot. Practice.
9/10, the reason why people suck is because not enough time at the range and they flinch every time a gun goes boom, they're not used to holding the gun and its recoil, etc
Just shoot a lot.

Practicing the wrong way will only ingrain bad habits.
Shoot a lot at good training classes instead.

this.

trigger control, and letting the gun do it's thing. easy for your brain to preemptively react to recoil. also take time to think. dont just run through boxes for no reason.
>>34897595
Make sure to align the gun with your dominant eye.

This is incorrect. The reason why they suck is because they don't have a clear goal and just blast 200 rounds at nothing, wasting their time and resources. That and they don't dryfire.
shooting a lot =/= getting meaningful practice and good reps
Is instinctive shooting worth practicing

7 fundamentals of marksmanship. Google it.
>>34897669
this. being stronger helps. hold it tight and try not to jerk the trigger. as long as you understand how your sight picture should look, thats literally all you need to know
Should I be doing a slow, steady squeeze on the trigger, or just a firm squeeze
>>34897595
What are you shooting, OP? DA/SA, striker, etc.
>>34898351
as long as its smooth, speed hardly matters. look at Jerry Miculek
>>34897595
I shoot 30 pellets with pic related every day at 10 meters, Olympic style. It's not very thrilling, but it considerably improved my marksmanship at the range.
>>34898351
Kinda what the other anon said slow and steady initially as you get used to the take up, break point and reset. The more you shoot the quicker you get.

This OP
Dry fire is great, builds the specific muscles you need to keep your gun on target while working the trigger. BUT. HUGE FUCKING BUT. It's really damn easy for it to turn into playing war from when you were a kid where every shot is a hit. An air pistol helps keep you honest. The newer you are the more important it is otherwise you'll train terrible habits in dry fire. I mix the two. Dry fire and pellet pistol.
Beeman p17 is worth getting for this reason alone.

Very nice. Same here
Rob Leatham has like 24 USPSA national championships under his built.
He is the most underrated shooter and trainer of all time.
He basically taught SOF how to shoot... and now SOF reteaches what they learned from him.

Brian Enos will basically set you on the path to become a super pistol shooter once you master the fundamentals of sight alignment and trigger control.
He and Leatham are peers. They basically figured out the fastest, most accurate way to shoot pistols in the 80s and no one has been better than them since

Obvious you've never done longer range pistol shooting. Gripping it to tightly will fuck your up.
>>34898567
What is that and how much does it cost?
>>34897595
Not sure how this hasn't been posted yet but concentrate always on these 4 fundamentals:
>Sight picture
>Trigger discipline, squeezing not jerking
>Breathing control, breath in slow, breathe out slow, squeeze
>Body posture/stance/grip
Pretty summer around here currently

To add to this you want the gun to scare you or shock you a bit when it goes off. Almost like suprised, you don't want to anticipate the recoil too much and develop a flinch or other bad practice
Make sure you can fire the gun without moving it. If you can't do this, don't bother aiming.
Yeah I always start to anticipating the recoil. I can send .38s down range all day with nice groups but as soon as I switch off to .357s I'm sending them left. Nice part is once I switch back to .38 it's a cakewalk.

You know, like at one time, people just had to figure out how to get good at guns because there was no one to show them the c-clamp.

Spend all of your money on ammo and shoot it all and do it again. Empty ammo boxes are free targets.

I do not aim with my hand; he who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I aim with my eye.
I do not shoot with my hand; he who shoots with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I shoot with my mind.
I do not kill with my gun; he who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father.
I kill with my heart.

I hope you wrap that shit in plastic, anon. I don't even want to think about the diseases you're spreading otherwise.
HAAAARD focus on the front sight and PREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSsssss....

2 most important things are grip and trigger pull, watch a vid on grip, and for trigger pull use the part of your index finger between the middle of your finger and the joint to pull the trigger straight back, dryfire at a spot on the wall until you can pull the trigger without jerking the sights
breath, relax, aim, squeeze, stay
make sure your grip is tight enough, but not so tight you shake
understand that your arms are going to sway a little, and if it looks like your sights are a bit out of alignment but you haven't moved, don't try and jerk the sights back to try and make the shot better, just take the shot
don't be afraid to start at 3 or 4 yards before you go to 7, then 14, then 25, i watched a guy shooting at 25 yesterday not hit shit
