I've been really curious, on how effective 7.62x39 is, when it comes to defense/offense. I know 8M3 is pretty damn violent. Acutal pictures would be great. Thanks

something with more I don't know. Flesh?
Just google it, don't be a bitch about the gore.
>>34888284
I tried all gore sites. I want something more from the battle field
Depends on what bullet you use.

I don't have pics on my phone but my S&B SP bullet made the lower half of my deer's heart disappear, along with a female fist sized cavity. The bullet travelled about 16 inches deep and stopped in the fat on the other side of the body. I recovered it, perfect mushroom. It was about 30 yards away.
I am confident in its performance for deer and bear at least out to 100m

I will add that m43 (most surplus) has poor expansion and will go through targets without doing anything special. It's advantage lies in penetration.
Different anon here but how lethal can 7.62x39 be against body armor if it doesn't penetrate? Let's say that you double tapped someone center mass but you didn't penetrate would it still do something besides just being akin to hitting them really hard? Would a handful of shots deteriorate most types of body armor to the point of penetration?

So 7.62x39 JSP dumps all it's energy basically immediately? Fuck man. Also different anon.
So against unarmoured targets it's basically gonna total someone.
>>34888868
7.62x39 is going to total people even in FMJ.
>>34888900
Deep narrow holes aren't good my dude.
>>34888861
Ceramic plates deteriorate pretty fast don't they? But yeah if it doesn't penetrate it wont really do anything but maybe some bruising, bigger rounds might crack ribs.
>>34889023
According to my google fu it depends on a lot of factors. If you get hit by multiple intermediate cartridge shots in quick succession you could get anything from broken ribs to internal bleeding or your heart could even stop since it's basically the same as getting hit by a sledgehammer in your chest multiple times. If the shit I googled is right you can pretty safely assume that the first shot probably won't do anything fatal but the follow up shots are what really fucks you up.
>>34888719
Have any of these for 8m3 and hollow point?
>>34888861
It would cause severe bruising and probably fracture or break ribs, but otherwise they'd live.
>>34888900
>round shown to be ice picking
>7.62x39 is going to total people even in FMJ.
That's not how that works
>>34888226
I saved this from /k/ many years ago.
Not for weak hearted people. Would spoiler if it was possible.

reports from the vietnam war were that the wounds from 5.45 and 7.62x39 were pretty much indistinguishable
>>34889131
regular hollow point and soft point tend to act just like ball
It hurts
>>34889943
The US involvement in Vietnam ended in 1973. I realize the war continued for a few years, but 5.45x39 did not come into service until 1974. I find it hard that 5.45 was used enough in the Vietnam war era for it to be confused with 7.62x39.

I'm pretty sure he's confusing 5.56 m193 out of a 20" 1:12 barrel and 7.62 RFN.
>>34890064
sorry 5.56, i must've had a stroke

I'm not quite sure why you would say that in the context of that picture.
