I'm interested in their Type 59-based Heavy IFV.

The PLA still has about 2300 Type 59s... If they could convert just a few hundred of them to heavy IFVs, their mechanized groups would gain quite the punch.

But yeah, the hull is CV90 styled, as in it uses a common chassis based on a light tank design (hence the broad tracks of the VN-17).

Nigga what, there is nothing about the Kurganets that makes it really "unique".
The layout is exactly the same as any other IFV and it's armament follows the standard. The only thing that is notable is the APS and remote turret, which is the natural course of IFV/APC development, so it's not "unique".
