Yeah in JP2 by Vince Vaughan's character but I'd assume most people would think its retarded as it put many lives in danger and the only time the hunter (based Peter Postlethwaite) tries to use it is when a t-rex is attacking the camp (which also is partially caused by vaughan's character). Ironic, as the hunter's rifle was a searcy double barreled .600 nitro and might have been the only thing capable of taking down the t-rex.

True but at least it's more nuanced then most. The full line is "You are not a gun, you are who you choose to be". He's saying the giant can choose who he is because he is a living being and not just a tool. He's basically just saying, you are a person not just a weapon. A gun can't choose who it is or what it destroys but a person can.
