"Oddball: These engines are the fastest in any tanks in the European Theater of Operations, forwards or backwards. You see, man, we like to feel we can get out of trouble, quicker than we got into it.
Kelly: Got any other secret weapons?
Oddball: Well, yeah, man, you see, like, all the tanks we come up against are bigger and better than ours, so all we can hope to do is, like, scare 'em away, y'know. This gun is an ordinary 76mm but we add this piece of pipe onto it, and the Krauts think, like, maybe it's a 90mm. We got our own ammunition, it's filled with paint. When we fire it, it makes... pretty pictures. Scares the hell outta people! We have a loudspeaker here, and when we go into battle we play music, very loud. It kind of... calms us down."

Yeah, I agree. I just like ribbing them because they're easily triggered. Ultimately I feel sorry for them more than anything, and blame the Neo-Progressives and the spineless Liberals who let them take over the Left. If it weren't for leftist identity politics, these kids wouldn't have been dispossessed to the point where they're driven to Nazism.

>>34893634
Look into Hitler's actual policies. He seized private property and industry, introduced a fuckload of social programs, used the State to control and plan the economy, confiscated guns and played collectivist identity politics. He was a Socialist with a few right-wing ideas on immigration and cultural traditionalism. He called it the National *Socialist* Party for a reason.
>>
>>34893774
We really need good old fashioned values to return to America. And I don't mean back in the day when minorities couldn't vote. I mean when Boyscouts were a big part of the average youth's life, when Highschool's sponsored target shooting matches, when it wasn't looked down upon to want to raise a family if you had the financial means to do so.

We need a new grass roots style of group that isn't extreme one way or the other that we can take part in that actually benefits us. Hell, we need an adult version of the Boyscouts.

So much this. We need a return to Liberal values. Not Liberal in the modern sense where it's just a generic term for Leftist, but the Enlightenment Liberalism that America was founded upon. Meritocracy, self-government, responsibility, capitalism, entrepreneurship, contributing to your community instead of sitting on your ass and begging the government to do it or saying "fuck you, got mine". The shit that made America great.

I think it's coming. Eventually the silent majority of reasonable people who don't give a fuck about politics are going to get fed up of all the bullshit from both sides.

I know that feel my friend. It blows my mind that this picture was taken in the basement of the Gym at Berkley in California back in the 40s. We can't gloss over the issues that our nations faced back in the day, but the loss of what were at the time, common and incredibly useful skills and classes is more than tragic.

>>34893866
Yeah. I like the idea of a summer camp or something along those lines where young men and /k/ommandos in general could enjoy a couple weeks of learning basic skills that are becoming more and more uncommon. Setting rabbit snares, dressing/cleaning a deer, fire starting, target shooting (a lot of /k/ommandos could use that), wilderness survival, heck maybe even some basic history classes on war and military tactics for fun.

The silent majority doesn't care about those things man. Part of the reason that those (and I am one) kids are driven that far is in part, a rebellion against the modern world, and the people in it. As Autistic as it is , Normies don't give a shit about anything, and act like fucking sheep. As gay as it is, and I have yet to prove it.. but I almost think that a classical liberal culture can survive the massive population growth of the last couple decades.
As more people exist, less matter individually. Kinda why you don't see anything like Medieval bishops, skilled in the arts of war, oratory, faith, and leadership all in one anymore. People are just cogs.
And those who actually care? Who long ago would have had bright futures as upstanding men of old Europa? Are embittered as their so called "Countrymen" squander all that their ancestors worked for on foreigners and those Anathema to reason and order. They see the masses forget faith and decency, and fall feet first into that decadence which has been the sign of the fall of empire. And they come to a choice, either abandon the liberal experiment, or face annihilation. It's not 100% true, but it's something close.

I honestly just wanted to play video games, now look what they made me do.

>>
>>34895684
Thunderdome was retarded. It was a pussy-ass PG-13 Hollywood corporate cash grab. The violence and the stunts was lame and toned down. The second half was not Mad Max at all, in fact it was part of an entirely different script originally but the studio insisted on putting it in to make the story more family friendly. The pig farts thing was incredibly stupid. Mad Max Rockatansky, a man who is primarily famous for being an amazing driver, drives NO CARS in the entire movie, unless you count his camel cart or the pig fart train in the final chase. There were some good moments in the first half, and Master-Blaster was great, but that doesn't make up for everything else being dumb.

The original Mad Max movie isn't nearly as bad. It's just a little slow and low-budget.

It definitely has the best ending with the hacksaw and the opening scene with the night rider is great. Likewise the fact that its set in a crumbling society and not a true post apocalypse makes it really unique.

But as much as the 2nd act in Thunderdome drags the 2nd act in Mad Max is even slower. Way too much time is dedicated to his family life. Maybe you can blame that on it being low budget; but frankly I think about ten minutes cut from the total run time would be an improvement.

>>34895863

>The pig farts thing was incredibly stupid

Methane power exists and it can be processed out of animal waste. Its actually one of the smarter bits of the film.

>a man who is primarily famous for being an amazing driver, drives NO CARS in the entire movie.

He drives a monster truck to clear the runway for the plane at the end. I'd agree the film could have used more car stunts.

>The second half was not Mad Max at all, in fact it was part of an entirely different script originally but the studio insisted on putting it in to make the story more family friendly.

Not even remotely correct. The post apocalyptic kids and their weird tribal mythology that they invented after their parents got killed off were actually the first idea that George Miller had for the film. I'd agree that they were my least favorite part of the film; but the fault for them lies with George Miller.
