hey /k/, any of y'all handled pic related? thinking of installing it on my maverick 88 loaded with 00 buckshot

this is a blue board

If you're looking for a fun range toy, it will be awesome. If you're thinking of using it for any practical purposes, don't be a retard. Pistol grip shotguns are a novelty. I have a pistol grip 870, not the same grip though. The one you posted is supposed to be the best design.
>>34877986
The birds head pistol grips are fine actually. They kind of slide back in your hand and slow down the recoil. They're even better if you use low recoil buckshot or something like #1 or #4. Regular shotgun pistol grips with no stock do kind of suck ass though
>>34877929
Use lowered powered shells and a laser sight and it would actually function as a very decent hallway weapon. The issues with stockless shotguns are recoil control and aim: the laser might sound goofy but they are very easy to adapt to, and save you from trying to adopt a traditional sight picture without a shoulder stock.

Or you could just hold this 2x4 while I hit it with a hammer...
>>34878729
yes but what options are for lasers in your pic gun?
>>34878729
This is one of the first things I'm going to order when my FFL comes in. Gonna hang it under the counter like an old-timey western saloon.

a laser would definitely help though

This. Pistol grip shotguns are fun, and usable, but a short stock is a better option for anything other than size constraints. It is hard to argue that you can stuff a birds head shotgun into a scabbard on a bike.
>>34877929
Fuck off Randy
>>34879199
You can take out the screws and put in a rail
t. Mossberg Shockwave owner
>>34879653
Now that folding stocks exist, it'd make a little more sense to just go that route rather than bother with this grip
They sure are fun though, and anyone that disregards them without acknowledging the fun factor just hasn't used them
>>34877929
Had one. It's fucking dumb. Just get a stock.
>>34878729
>Use lowered powered shells and a laser sight and it would actually function as a very decent hallway weapon
A passable one, anyway.
Practice a lot with it if you're gonna use it for that.
Could also put a light on it in case of a power outage.

I've seen lasers for airshit shotguns that replace the cap for the magazine tube, I wonder if that exists for real guns and if it's at all viable.
>>34880555
Yeah but with a stock the 14" gun becomes an SBS, and you need a tax stamp in advance for that to be legal.
The shockwave gripped shorties are only considered regular 'firearms' because they exist in a sort of definition limbo.
>>34880687
A quick and dirty Google search found me a handful of tube cap lasers in non airshit quality.
Also looks like a clamp that fits around the tube is a popular choice, although I don't think the Shockwave tube is long enough to fit one of those
I found a pic somewhere of one with a top mounted laser sight, gotta see if I can fig it up again
>>34877929
fuck your stockless shotguns
>>34877929
Has your Maverick 88 ever had a stock on it or was it a cruiser type? If it has had the stock then you can't make your barrel shorter than 18" if you use the birds head grip.
>>34880687
>because they exist in a sort of definition limbo.
Because the ATF is a fucking joke. A joke that kills dogs.
>>34878729
I really want one of these in 20 gauge.
>>34877929
I just want to SBS a Shockwave.
What are my sighting options for these things? I don't think I'd want a reflex or red dot. Would rather have 3-dot irons.
>>34884620
>I want to sbs a shockwave
>I want to sbs an already sbs
Or buy a normal one send in your tax stamp and just make one for less.
>>34884800
You can't put a real stock on a Shockwave without SBSing it.
>>34884620
You don't have to SBS a shotgun equipped with a Birdshead grip if the Shotgun never had a stock attached and the Overall Length is < 26"
>>34877929
Was breach guy in my squad (Mossberg 500, w/o stock), and I have no idea why anyone would voluntarily shoot/buy such wrist-rott outside of necessity/or lack of options.
>>34885194
Yes. I know. I want to SBS it and put a stock on it.
>>34886167
Might as well buy a regular shotgun then.
>>34878729
Are you the guy from my lgs? I talked to him about Mark 23s and he tried to get me to order a Tavor and one of these to put a laser on.
it's alright. PUSH it out like a spear, can be quite accuart.

A regular shotgun wouldn't be that short.
