The magazine only fits that model of gun. Think of it like tires/wheels for a car. A few manufacturers make wheels for a wide variety of car companies/models, but many cars have exclusive (PROPRIETARY) measurements for what wheels or tires can be used for that car. Thusly, some magazines can fit a wide variety of weapons in the same family (standard AR/AK mags), but some are SPESHUL SNOWFLAKE DO NOT STEAL (HK's piston AR, the 416, caught flak for having not only proprietary mags, but proprietary mags that were shit).
