Hi /k/. I'm not really into weapons (can't get one where I live) or prepper stuff, but I'm curious. What are some basic survival skills one should know?
if shit goes down there will be people trying to start a fire with an Iphone app. What should I know? how to use a compass? how to make knots?
what about training? (already doing martial arts) any more?
How to make fire in many different ways
First aid
fishing
snare/trap-making
bowhunting can't hurt, shits hard tho
^^just shit like that anon
As for training, do you mean combat training? You gotta be more specific

Also land nav, I forgot, but it's a very important/useful skill to have

As >>34870234 says
Furthermore:
Map reading
Edible plants, and mushrooms pf your area
How to build a shelter (not that important as you think though)
How to filter water
Sewing and repairing/maintaining your gear
For training:
Be fit, remember, you should be able to carry your stuff without any help
Advanced first aid would probably also be good.
Train for hunting, meaning become better aware of your surroundings. This is not just for prey, but also for dangers.
so, any normie should know:
-How to make fire in many different ways
-First aid
-fishing
-snare/trap-making
-bowhunting
-Map reading
-Edible plants, and mushrooms pf your area
-How to build a shelter
-How to filter water
-Sewing and repairing/maintaining your gear
-land nav

Fishing and sewing are severely under rated skills when it comes to prepping

that's why I opened this thread. I have a friend who is into prepping. all he thinks about are weapons, ammo, military tactics...
All these people seems to focus in these kind of thing but if the things were wrong, they wouldn't be able to do simple tasks.

The problem is when people imagine prepping they think more along the lines of "daily shootouts with roving gangs of bandits just like muh Ukrainian video games" instead of surviving in the woods for an extended period of time limited only to supplies you can carry on your person.

THIS
>muh cool movie where I save the girl.
then they don't care about knowing how to distinguish drinkable from non-drinkable water.
