Just 11X, I was trying to get op40 but they didn't have any. Or at least that's what my recruiter said, he could have been bullshitting me.

Those are a scam from what I saw. The Army, at least when I was in, had too many airborne qualified guys around. They would fail almost all privates during the APFT deliberately by not counting any of your reps after 41 push-ups. I was literally the only 11X during my OSUT cycle. We had one guy with a simple airborne contract. One guy, my bunkmate was offered SF during training. Several years later, of the people I keep up with, only the SF guy made it. Everyone else was a washout.

With the wars dying down, hope you get 11C. They're attached to units organically, and mostly do their own thing. In the suckfest that is peacetime garrison life, there is far worse places to be than being the one group of infantry attached to HQ.

The closest you'll do to operating is rappelling and, maybe, during your final FTX if a Drill Sergeant decides to take you along for a "Fucking with the enemy/your own platoon" detail. That's fun. Instead of reacting to contact or ambushes, you get to set them up under the guidance of an actual soldier. The bayonet march is just several hours of ruck running followed by a smoke session to fake you out.

No matter how good you are, you're still gonna get yelled at, so be prepared to keep your mouth shut. Basic isn't hard at all though, just don't take anything personally.
