How will wars be fought in 2100?
By militias in technicals dragging around 100-year-old AKs. Sorry, the movie that showed us the face of war in the future wasn't Ghost In The Shell, it was Blackhawk Down.

No weapons, just internet arguements and doxing. Possible rape.

They'll get cancer and die
We'll all have died by then, the human race is too damn stupid to survive for much longer. The savage remnants of what's left of society will fight like tribals, with spears, rocks, and other makeshift melee weapons, coupled with the occasional rusty gun that isn't destroyed until all the ammo runs out. The last men to fight eachother will do it as the first did; With rocks. And just as Nex Alea's first addition was the stone that killed Abel, buried deep in it's heart, the last addition shall be the stone that ends the human race.
War is the way of man, but man is not eternal.
Ave Nex Alea.

Probably in much the same way but wars will be fought over different resources. Clean water, lithium, fertile soil, land mass/survival. The power houses still won't fight each other directly and will only fight via proxy wars.

Damn it, it's already too unfair. You can't even have a decent insurgency these days without being bombed by some plane ten kilometres above you.

With blackpowder rifles for the main infantry mass and ancient legacy smokeless semi autos for elite units. The American empire has shattered into pieces, the last of the dozen B52s left at the time of the breakup being shot down in the Texan- Confederate war.
The Chinese empire is in the process of going down in flames, long after using up the last of the American nuclear warheads as fuel for their power plants. Their downfall comes from the Sino-Siberian invaders raiding northern and western China after the Afro-Chinese colonies ate up precious military resources and attention in rebellions. Warfare organized by AI that came and stayed as long as there was reliable information beeing fed in, hardware renewed, and electricity fed reliably. Attempts to make robotic armies faltered after the AIs baulked at the the resource drain away from them, perferring the use of self renewing meatbags instead. The logistics of maintaining the AI computing centers is what ultimately ended their use. In chinese Africa, warfare continued its development pattern of paratrooper assaults followed by infantry on commercial trucks and technicals.
Europe is the usual cauldron of war it has always been, but pogroms against Germans are a convenience used by local rulers whenever there are agricultural difficulties. The earlier volkerwanderung didn't do much, between the winter and the Russians, the african tide came and went, and the arabs who stayed improved over time after the strict application of anti incest laws. Locally made pattern copies and imported arms proliferate in lurching conflicts and ceasefires. In the sands of Mesopotamia, raiders on horseback armed with AKs and jazails fought for the glory of various kingdoms of the land. Earthen city walls are a common fixture throughout, Jerusalem's are slightly more radioactive than others. The silk road agumented warfare with a heavier proportion of siege weapons.
>>34868601
This is the truth.
And it's going to make war much more politically cheap, because the intervening country only gives a shit about their own casualties and expenses for the most part.
Drones and low risk assets (not low cost, stuff like stealth jets and cruise missiles), bombing Arab and African peasants (and SEA peasants possibly, depends if CN / US go the route of proxy wars but it seems unlikely right now).
And there will be a lot of these low-medium intensity conflicts, probably in Africa. Rising labour costs in the far east will cause Africa to get rich. African governments are the equivalent of warring city states, there is a lot of religious fundies (Muslims, but also truly out-of-this-world loonytunes Christian sects) around, lots of good bushwar terrain that will bog down conflicts. Lots and lots of residual resentment of the West. Water wars, food wars.
Shits gonna get fucked.

There would be tons of cheap stuff too. We have have technological breakthrough, look at these $1-2K consumer china made quad-copters used successfully to kill people. With time costs will only go down and capabilities up.
Even more, consumer level AI is one step away.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hX0UELNRR1I
Soon we have many customer programmable and customisable autonomous AI controlled drones so you will no need for radio control . Just program drones to kill stuff. Of course many militaries (especially in big 8 countries) would be reluctant to create fully autonomous killer drones because of muh feels and collateral damage concerns. But ISIS like, African warlords or Russian ""freedom fighters""? Future would be glorious.

In a similar tune to these posts, the key idea is that if we don't annihilate ourselves or hit some event of similar scale that would impede on our current ability/growth, it would be a couple orders of magnitude beyond the ridiculously unfair state of warfare today when major powers and logistics are involved. Namely, complete three dimensional mapping of a target area, through physical and electronic countermeasures, complete infiltration/denial of any and all electronic signals or power transfer, and ability to thread any choice of weapon in and through any material to any end, to name a few extremely unimaginative examples.
If there is still a military with anything approaching the manpower, financial and intellectual capability of today's military(using the united states and an example), it'll be magic. Which is funny considering that most classified electronic programs appear to be magic as things are right now anyway.
Basically it'll be rad as fuck. If we're not all dead.
