Irregardless of taste chances are cost of shooting a Thompson will go up and chances will go down.

The AR-15 on the other hand is going the other way (or at least aren't getting any rarer or more expensive) so it'll likely be easy to do some time in the future.

Thompson, it has a bit of recoil, but it is controllable in short bursts. Just mind where your fingers are on the front grip unless it has a vertical grip.
