>Are AA missiles on MBT's red pilled?
What the fuck are you on about?
Also, there should be no apostrophe on MBTs.
>>34864464
Look at the picture, it has a stinger like missile on it.
>>34864453
It's a bad platform for them. Zero height and speed at launch puts a SAM at a serious disadvantage to begin with and tanks are't deployed to maximize the effectiveness of antiaircraft weapons. It's theoretically useful for terminal defense from attack helicopters, but mostly useless.
>>34864470
But why red you say red pilled?
What does red pilled mean?
Also, it's not a stinger, it's an Igla (most likely a shitty DPRK knockoff).
>>34864632
It's a moronic idiom. I think it's best to just ignore them and wait for them to die on their own.
Nork dump commencing.
Not an "expert" but i've been closely following DPRK for over a decade. Ask any questions.
>>34864453
when your F15D gets shot down by a NORK Strella rage quit and claim map hax
>>34864734
why have you chosen to weeb out over the worst weeb country?
>>34864734
Is that a SAM or an ATGM on the tank?
Seems like a rather ineffective platform for an AA launcher, especially since MBTs aren't known for their agility in pursuing aerial targets. It could serve as a last ditch attempt to down enemy helicopters, but I'd imagine by the time it would be of use, they'd already have the drop on you.
>>34864798
The DPRK is absolutely fascinating to me. Don't get me wrong, i'm not some wanna be Nork. I would never want to be a Nork.
>>34864839
Actually the Pokpung-ho has both. Two manpads (mostly aged strelas and two ATGMs. They cannot be fired from inside the tank though.
>>34864877
The Pokung-ho also has a 2A46 125 mm gun. Same gun used on the T-90
The Chonma- ho has a 115 mm 2A20 Smoothbore Gun same one on the T-62.

Impressive.
North Korea has the best tech in the world.
>>34864453
As UAVs proliferate I wouldnt be surprised if small AA missiles become a common vehicle feature.
>>34864632
Its probably not even an Igla, its probably a Strela-2 or 3.
>>34865110
I've always found these three axel BTR copies interesting
>>34865269
What is an AA machinegun for 100
>>34864734
Would Nork infantry actually wear this in combat?
Could they win in a proper shooting war against SK and the US?
How good are their air defenses?
>>34867017
No
No
No
>>34864453
It's not the worst idea, but if you're going to launch missiles from a tank it's much better to fire them out of the gun.
>>34867017
This is their field uniform looks like this. Air defense is primarily provided by Soviet SAM systems and locally produced knockoffs. They'd be effectively irrelevant vs modern US or ROK forces.
>>34867017
They look so depressed.
Not at all
Unless you think having an AA mg on tanks is silly
>>34864798
>saving pictures of military equipment is bad
Why don't you kill yourself faggot
Vice just did a segment on best Korea, they were there on kims birthday with some pretty good close footage of the parade
>>34866968
The US doesnt really have many ground-based AA assets, including autocannons like the 23mm ZSU or whatever
>>34864453
Honestly, it's not a horrible idea. They know they're going to be dealing with a lot of enemy helicopters and a lot of drones... what's a better way to deal with that then have as many manpads on fucking everything you can?
>>34867231
The Serbs managed to knock out a F-117 with a bit of persistence and good old fashioned dumb luck, so I don't know if I'd completely rule out some pretty limited NORK success on the AA front.
That being said, when was the last time the US actually lost a fixed-wing aircraft to ground fire?
>>34864453
a-10 shitters btfo so yea
>>34864783
> F-15
> shot down by nork junk.
> even once.
>>34868354
Interesting question, I just spent like five minutes looking through the losses.
Here's the most recent one, an A-10 in 2003:
USAF Roundel 8 April 2003 – A-10A 78-0691 of 124th Wing/190th FS shot down by Iraqi Roland SAM; pilot survived.[193]
