think more of high-end space guns and "bad guy" rifles like you see in old action movies. AUGs, P90s, that sorta shit. there's also a strong emphasis on feature creep and over-specialization; the pistols all fire fuckin .25 ACP or 10mm and are always silenced. every sniper rifle is in .50 or larger. every assault rifle fires .high tech homing flechettes from a 50 round drum that attaches to the side. because it's the future and such a consumerist society, everything should be obnoxiously branded and have hundreds of health and safety markers for people who don't RTFM (which is anyone, only fuckin scrubs read manuals). there should be insane amounts of clockwork fuckery inside the gun to make it work and have features no one even knew they wanted until they bought this gun.
cyberpunk doesnt mean just throw some rails on it and call it a day, cyberpunk is cyber and punk, it's a consumerist hell as depicted by anti-consumerism types, and everything is high tech for high tech's sake. a fucking m4 with some gaudy aftermarket cosmetic parts is neither of those things
>>34864884
I tend to disagree. That's not really what OG cyberpunk shit like Gibson is about. Guns are pretty utilitarian, though sometimes absurdly futuristic or incorporating futuristic ideas in juxtaposition with older elements.
Think about how in Neuromancer Case buys a gun that is stated to just be a functional copy of a PPK while Molly has her flechette pepperbox.
>>34864884
THIS IS CYBERPUNK AS FUCK.
>>34864913
>just be a functional copy of a PPK

>while Molly has her flechette pepperbox.

>>34864884

>>34864945

you people are worse than the faggots that hot-glue random brass tubes and gears to mosin nagants and call it "steampunk"
>>34864884
A fucking m4 with some gaudy aftermarket cosmetic parts is the exact kind of consumerism you describe.
>>34864940
Except it's not. It's just a dinky little 22 LR pistol with shitty red plastic grips made in some Vietnamese sweatshop based on South American rip offs. It's not supposed to be cool and futuristic, it's supposed to say just the opposite.
A cyberpunk future should feel used and lived in. High-tech low life, as they say. A gun might shoot lead azide explosive tips, but the grip is wrapped in masking tape.If everything is shiny new plastic and chrome plated, then you're missing the point of the ethos.
>>34864677
>but i heard parts and magazines for the M9 are expensive and practically vaporware in the states.
The Catch 22 of non established designs isn't it? Accessory manufacturers don't want to make accessories for guns that no one is buying, and in turn, no one buys them because no one's making accessories for them.
>>34864955
Because it's military grade castoffs ending up on the streets. It's the gradual dissolution of nations in the face of cold cash.
Anyway, piss off with the reductionist (and inaccurate in the first place) mentality.
The ultimate in cyberpunk.
>>34864990
Before this turns into a full blown "what is cyberpunk" argument, I think it should be pointed out that cyberpunk has multiple interpretations within the genre. Arguing for purity is simply clique warfare.
>>34864884
Also shit tons of wires hanging off of everything, that connect to all the jacks you had drilled into your skull. Because what the fuck is blue tooth? This is the future, the future according to 80s cokeheads.
>>34864990
>If everything is shiny new plastic and chrome plated,
I'm saying that this is NOT cyberpunk, and most of the guns itt are basically just that; they look futuristic, but that's literally it, there is nothing either Cyber nor Punk about them.
A punk wouldn't use an M4, and neither would a nerdy programmer. Something like that Vector I posted fits because it's both high tech and slathered in branding, evocative of the consumerist hell worlds that cyberpunk stuff usually involves. you could also go the other direction with something like that flechette pepperbox, a silly and probably home-constructed but ultimately needlessly high tech (because flechettes) thing for a lowlife to go do lowlife things.

The punk would use the M4 because he's some punk without a lot of money that needs something cheap. Authentic Great War on Terror surplus, comes with sling and spare mag for only 120 dollars-yen.
And of course you're going to need rails, how else are you going to hotswap your laser sight with your auto-magnifying, light compensating ACOG2?
>>34865213
>The punk would use the M4 because he's some punk without a lot of money that needs something cheap.
M4s aren't cheap.
>>34865204
How? You do realize that the thing on top is not what's doing the firing, it's just the computer for the smart bullets.
Also, cyberpunk where the past doesn't exist is fucking lame and gay. Shit doesn't just disappear at a certain point. If there are still guns and bullets to shoot out of those guns, then people will keep using them. Maybe not high end mercenaries or corporate security, but gang bangers certainly will.
>>34865226
They will be when they're woefully out of date and the military has sold off all it's surplus.

Maybe not true military issue shit, but an AR can be turned into one for real cheap. All the parts required can be bought easily. It's illegal as all hell, but if you're killing people it doesn't really matter what other laws you break, cause you're already fucked if you get caught.

Thats a fair question. I'd taken the sling off for the pucture. It's actually a pretty good design for the rifle if you want a 2 point sling. It doesn't get in the way at all.
That cross in the back is done so that the rear attachment point won't start to slide up,down, or to the rear. The bit at the front doesn't interfere with mag changes or anything.

>Translation of the flavor text
Crvena Zastava Nosle got its start as a gun manufacturer in the 90’s, as an offshoot of Z.C.Zw (Zavodi Crvena Zastava), after Serbia’s democratization and separation from Yugoslavia.
The Model 22 is the company’s third marketed product. Following the end of the twentieth century, as the world faced a constant rise in the number of terrorism incidents and the severity of urban crime, demand grew for a new style of firearm with different capabilities compared to the traditional categories of “assault rifle” and “SMG.” The 9-Weapon was developed as a man-portable firearm fit to meet that demand. In terms of performance, it is truly a midpoint between its two “parents,” as the newly-developed 5.7mm round affords it stopping power and range that far outstrip the capabilities of an SMG, yet the gun retains high portability. Additionally, since the gun was released as an all-inclusive weapon system with its own versatile kit, it is able to meet a broad variety of needs. However, despite its favourable characteristics, the 9-Weapon has come to be considered too high-powered (especially for urban scenarios), and so popularity has been gravitating toward guns designed for lower-powered ammunition. The 5.7mm round itself ended up banned, and is now only used by certain special forces units. What this means is, we can assume that the weapons in use by Section 9 represent some of that dead stock of a once successful weapon.
So we know what kind of weapons we'll but using, but what tunes will you jam to when you're working as a merc in filthy streets of Neo Tokyo hunting rouge synths..?
My offering: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKES3IIbTl4
10mm is the most cyberpunk cartridge. When the replicants need to be hunted down, 10mm AP rounds will be the only cartridge that can reliably puncture their subcutaneous non-newtonian fluid armor.

Car places with a working time machine to the 80's.
Maybe if you had a ton o' money.
>>34866766
Fuck I love older car A E S T H E T I C S.
Especially all the older "wedge" style concept cars and shit.....lambo cunts.....old style ferraris........and the good old Mercury Grand Marquis from the mid 80s. Boxy, big, gas guzzling boat. Love it.
>>34863538
I'd say this is cyberpunk. Remember cyberpunk can be garish and ugly in an attention getting way. Especially for bad guys. Think of the enemies in EYE divine cybermancy, or the costumes in blade runner.
>>34866485
The Colt design was super rushed. HK happened to be working on suitable design already but Colt had to whip together a fucktarded 1911 derivative to meet the trials deadline
>super long grip to accommodate "flush" 10rd mag
>copy-paste Double Eagle DA/SA trigger mech
>copy-paste All American 2000 rotating barrel short recoil, because the tilting barrels mech was beating itself to death on .45 +P
>muzzle brake on the frame for suppressor attachment because suppressors don't work nicely with rotating barrels
>that version has the brake pinned to the dust cover, later changed to be a rail attachment (pic related)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnY6FSLFy3c
yes, it was fucking horrible
>>34866374
I want to dress my scar up a corp security rifle. Whats the most cyberpunk looking flashhider and optic. Im leaning towards an eotech for the optic, something about square sights just feels right. Also might have to trackdown a short barrel, or find a good rail
>>34867013
You have to make it white somehow.
>>34867030
And it has to have big black boxy type on it, for maximum corpsec aesthetics.
>>34867040
ive got a peq2 so thats basically the same as a big black box.
>>34867030
spraypaint all day bro, we aint no bitch security we use our guns
>>34866533
Considering it's a toy the Taurus is just fine. They're both point blank weapons in a shoot out.
>>34867054
No no, I mean big black boxy TYPE, like MNU or Weyland-Yutani, or イラスト コミュニケーションサービス.
>>34867066
oh, im tracking now. i could try to make some stencils i guess, i might have the infograph on how to do it saved somewhere still.
>>34862814
The most cyberpunk gun is no gun at all since in a cyberpunk dystopia 99.99999% of everyone on here would be no-guns, no-life chem addicts who sit jacked into the Net all day playing holo-shooters when we're not working our soul-sucking jobs as button-pushers for a multinational corporate garbage collection agency.
>>34863256
If a Glock has no OEM parts is it still a Glock? Really activates your almonds.
>>34866374
That's airshit.
>>34867148
not saying it is/isn't, but curious, how do you figure?
>>34866744
Car makers did it themselves in the 80s.
>>34867172
Look real close at the mag well, specifically the front face of the mag well.
>>34867195
Are you talking about the seem line? real scars also have that, i can see it on mine right next to me
>>34867219
Yes, but do the two sides of the mag well actually line up? The right side of the mag well and the left side aren't flush with each other.
>>34863614
how is this cyberpunk
>>34866483
What am I looking at here? I reminds me of >>34866277
I like it

>>34867593
Talking about the image he posted you autist.
>>34863618
I also own the LS45. Patrician taste.
>>34865233
Cyberpunk doesn't work as well when you pave over the past. You need the contrast with the old to draw attention to the new.
Best example in media I can think of is Deus Ex versus Invisible War. In the first, everything's grounded in reality. You can see places as the real world a few years from now. It wasn't signed into law that after 2040, the entire world must be demolished and rebuilt but with more neon.
In Invisible War, basically everything is sci-fi as fuck, all the time. It degrades the setting by being too removed from reality.

I hate this so much,
Is this fitting ? I don't even know what this is.
Anyone knows where I can find recreational nukes ?
Actual laser gun.
>>34868228
i want one of these so bad, i hate how theyre nonexistant on the market, i cant even find a parts kit.
Every day, I wake up in my gated suburban neighborhood, clip on a single stack pistol in holster, and drive through blighted sprawl so I can get to my corporate job in a plastic multistory tech neighborhood.
Tone down the exaggeration a bit and all our guns are technically cyberpunk. Still waiting on a Guardian with holo sights, smartlink, and burst fire though
>>34868272
Indeed.
>>34868310
I know its basically just an uzi with a long ass muzzle brake and a foregrip but everything about it is sweet. Even the moonrunes add to the aesthetic.
theyre basically square tubeguns right, i wonder how hard it would be to build one.
>>34865085
>Stephenson was pretty clear on the description.
All this one needs is some cooling veins and a laptop
>>34868319
It's like a Uzi that was beefed up by a prop maker for an action movie. It is that cool.
Unfortunately, it will always be expensive to remake a standard model firearm, unless we invent some process to make steel workable with 3D printers.
>>34866228
The Kriss KARD is in .45, you're thinking of the Maxim 9

Saw them over the weekend. They are weird as fuck.
May be a Steyr M-series, but I still love it.
>>34869622
Where?
>>34865821
Why not both? 10mm Auto necked down like .357 Sig is necked down .40.
