yo new fag here. how about a Cap and ball thread. good ol black powder. I am going to get into it when my arm heals up and im back to work and can afford the hobby. anyone have any experience or just enjoy it? the thought of a big cloud of smoke coming out of a revolver designed over 100 years ago turns me on

It's a fun range toy if anything, but they are a bitch to load and you arent supposed to keep them loaded

As long as they are protected from humidity, blackpowder weapons can stay loaded for a long time (several months).

If you decide to go the revolver route, the Remingtons are much easier to deal with. I've had 2 Remingtons, still have 1 and have shot a few different Colts. Colts, while easier to shoot accurately, jam up pretty easily.

Blackpowder shooting can be really fun and interesting.
Check out some people on YouTube
Hickok45 has some good videos on it, as does Duelist1954, and there's also the Cap N Ball channel, watch some videos to get some ideas and to have them teach you a few things.

I can actually fan mine without a jam.
