/k/, I need help finding a sane replacement for pic related as that's my primary sidearm at work. I love the thing to bits, but 7+1 is hard to justify when the fucker weighs close to 50oz with the light on and fully loaded. I'd prefer something in .45 because my company is full of people that use Glock 21s so I can get 230grain HSTs on company dime (it's ordered by the crate). I love the grip angle and the trigger on the 1911, I just need something that has a bit more capacity. Bonus points for having a grip that isn't too fucking chunky because I'm a fucking manlet and even though I have long fingers, my hands themselves are not gigantic. The FNX-45 tactical got ruled the fuck out after half a box of ammo.

HK45 or USP
>>
>>34858498
I tried a USP45 years ago and hated the trigger. Is the HK45 better? And can you get the finger grooves removed like on a Glock? I only bitch about that because most finger grooves do not fit my fingers particularly well.
>>
>>34858510
I don't think you can remove the grooves on the hk45, but the trigger on both is about the same if I remember correctly, which is one of the better ones that you can get on a polymer gun. The only other thing I can think of if you are that worried about ergo and trigger is a M&P45 with an apex trigger kit.
>>
>>34858531
I have an Apex trigger in my edc (no spring kit though), and I'm not re a fan. Fwiw, the USP I shot was a range beater that definitely lacked the match trigger upgrade.
>>
I'm gonna go ahead and suggest the obvious if you already love the 1911.

Those mags interest me. I was hoping to get to at least 13rd capacity though. Also I don't much trust anything other than normal 7rd mags in 1911s. Too many stories of problems, and I carry this shit for work.
>>
>>34858588
It's an extended tube, not fucking with the spring and follower. Reviews on the Wilson and Tripp 10 round mags are both stellar.

You could always nut up and buy an STI 2011 if you really want more capacity.
>>
>>34858588
I can't speak for the .45s but their 10rd 9mn mags completely eliminated malfunctions in my 9mm A1. I don't trust anything else, lest it cost me a stage.
>>
glock 21 dumbass, stop being the snowflake of your company and get with the program
>>
>>34858481
>the fucker weighs close to 50oz with the light on and fully loaded
How much does it weigh with the light turned off?
>>
>>34858597

This, it would hurt to scratch it though.

>>34858481

OP, I know you probably don't care much for the grip angle of a glock 21 but it probably is the best answer and you can train into it if you want to. It's cheap (important in a work gun), reliable, high capacity, and shares mags with your coworkers. If you want an edge on what they use, get a glock 41. Same mags, same width as 21, but with OA length of 1911, longer sight radius than either, and lightened trigger.

Glock brand glock.

Yeah, I'm not taking a $3k gun to work. I'm going to try to see if I can shoot a USP 45 with a match trigger group, and if it's not worth the extra cash I'll just get a G21 and send it to Bowie or TTInto unfuck the grip or something.
>>
>>34858588
I use a 10 round McCormick magazine that works great. Only put about 100 rounds through my R1 with it and it worked great.
>>
How about a SIG P227?

Came here to suggest this: >>34858936

If you want a .45acp with the grip angle of a 1911 but without the weight, do a M&P 45.
>>
>>34858481
Sig p227 I carry one and I love it.

This. They also recoil like a 9mm

>>34858936
I used to own a p226 and hated the bore axis.
