What have you guys been buying?
Been hunting? Show us your shit.
Has anyone got their hands on a Pardus yet?
>>
>>34857832
Thinking very seriously about one of these Riverman straight pulls and getting it cerakoted out of the gay orange, or a Verney Carron Speedline... thinking of getting in before they recategorise them lol
>>
>>34857857
Are you using your kidney as a downpayment?
>>
>>34857870
Part of my tax return, actually

I've almost got my MVP the way I want it, or at least as far as I can go on a budget. Just need one of those cheapo trident brakes and maybe a cheek riser.
>>
You must have got a nice payout, how much?

I typically get around $4-5k

Happy with it? They're supposed to be a pretty handy rifle

I really do, but I've only fired about a hundred rounds through it so far, with a shitty sight. I just got the vortex put on recently.
The mags being 50-60 bucks each is probably my favorite thing,
>>
>>34857955
Nice one. Yeah it's such a pain in the dick to get somewhere convenient to plink in this country, alas.
>>
>>34857986
I know, I have a place in some state forest but it's really shitty and only about 25 meters of actual shooting space. I'll have to continue exploring I guess.

I literally just became a member of these cunts. Hope they get some pull about them.
>>
>>34858175
Are they just a /k/ meme organisation? There's like two of them on here.
>>
>>34858184
I hope not, but even if they are they are miles better than the (((SSAA)))
>>
>>34858184
They're doing their best to be legit, but can't help spouting memes and insults in everything they write.
>>
>>34858192
The SSAA has ranges though, do these people have ranges?
>>
>>34857832
Want to pick up a 92fs, but can't decide on a classic model or an A1
>>
So, have a question regarding guns in straya, my brother went down there and worked on a ranch, he said they would often shoot around, hunt pigs/whatever doggo-like animals preyed on their cattle or take wounded animals out of their miserry (he even got scope eye). Since we're yurofags, he had no prior experience or knowledge on guns.
So how legal was it/what requirements would you need to do something like that? And generally what kind of guns can you guys own?

some details vary from state to state, mostly regarding the ease of getting whichever licence.
>>
>>34858196
Yeah they need to get their fucking ass into gear, I paid for my membership like 4 months ago almost.
I wish they'd hurry up, I don't want to reup with SSAA.

I assume they could get them, I know my local gun dealer has contacts with pardus, what have they said?
>>
>>34857832
Didn't they just ban nerf guns in Australia?
Airsoft and paintball is banned too. How the hell can they own real firearms.

Do you always get your news from 4chan?
>>

The SSAA have the best ranges, if you like being prohibited to run mags.

R U OK?
>>

When I did my safety course and we did the practical firing a rifle and demonstrating the checks and stuff, they used mags then.

Yep, but for everyday use mags are banned from the range. Insanity. Try sighting in by breaking position to reload after every round.

I'm fine other than being continually spammed with insane babbling since these fantasists got their hands on the SSAA mailing list.

It's embarrassing. As though the most inept, least coherent possible group of shooters got together and decided to declare to the country that shooters are retarded, yet should be allowed even more dangerous weapons by divine right.
>>
>>34858362
Well I don't exactly have the luxury of choice when it comes to ranges. If I ever manage to get a gun that is.

Look Richard, it sucks that you lost your only two popular senators but you shouldn't take it out on us.

Wherabouts are you? I haven't seen places like that around.
>>
>>34858411

Pick both.
>>
>>34857928
With that money just buy an accuracy international or better yet some sort of .50
>>
>>34858414
You won't, but there's flyers up at all ranges stating standing orders and that's one of them.
>>
>>34858424
QLD. Had a mate confirm it's the same in Sydney as well. There's a reason not many people renew their membership.
>>
>>34858453
It's not like that in Vic.
Magdumps all day err'day.
>>
>>34858435
Not all of it is going on a gun... though if I go with a Sako 85 I'll probably spend the rest on glass
>>
>>34858460
Really? That's good. I've heard the rule enforcement varies from range to range though, perhaps they only get autistic at highly trafficked ranges?
>>
>>34858471
Little River and Springvale get huge amounts of traffic.

They're pretty autistic at Springvale since they get a ton of noguns coming in to shoot .22 rifles, but they still let you use mags and fire fairly quickly.
>>
>>34858453
Where in QLD? I'm in bundaberg right now, wanting to take up pistol shooting
>>
>>34858477
Pistols aren't my thing, so I don't know if they enforce the same rule for Cat H. The only real answer is to go down to the nearest SSAA range and ask.
>>
>>34858488
Pistol clubs are usually pretty good.
Anywhere that does IPSC will be fine.
>>
I spoke to a Verney Carron rep at the shotshow and asked if the speedline is coming in .308. He said that a .308 and 223 variant are in the works
>>
>>34858506
Thank fuck. Couldn't imagine they weren't going to but it's good to know. They should sell a fucking shitload.
>>
>>34858518
In some ways I'd honestly rather have a pump-action or a straight-pull than a lever release.

Just something about the ergos seems weird to me.
>>
>>34858524
I like the idea of followup shots without breaking position
>>
>>34858524

Speedline looks comfy asf

>What have you guys been buying?
Just bought a Python, get to shoot it for the first time tomorrow.
>Been hunting? Show us your shit.
Nah not for a while
>Has anyone got their hands on a Pardus yet?
No but I'm tempted to buy on when my adler shits the bed again.
>>
>>34858641
Is the adler as shit as i've heard?
what about the SHS?
>>
>>34858647
My adler was fine. I put about 2500 rounds through it at the skeet range, then took it through a waterfowl season. Treated it like absolute shit, would throw it in the mud and water when I stopped to collect/chase ducks and geese. Just tip the water out and off it went. The finish held up extremely well considering everything rusts like mad up here. Was very reliable, even when full of dirt and mud.

The steel shot wrecked my choke. Even when using the right choke it just slowly became tighter and tighter as the choke started to expand. New chokes are easy to buy.
My barrel was bent from the factory, Nioa fixed it free of charge and very quickly, the gunsmith there called me personally and was very easy to work with.

Has had about 5000 rounds through it now and still works fine. But I don't expect it to last anymore than 1-2 more goose seasons, but for $650 I'll just fucking buy a new one when this on is completely rooted.
>>
>>34858647
I havent personally used an SHS but a very reputable gunsmith in my area says they are complete heaps of shit.

Take that as you will.
>>
>>34858669
That's pretty good to hear, how does the action go on your hands? It's not like a 1887 were most of the action goes on the closing lever is it?
>>
>>34858687
It wont hurt your hands an knuckles at all. I haven't even wrapped mine in bullshit. Brand new ones are stiff as fuck but loosen up greatly over time.
The opening of the action is definitely the 'hard' part, closing it is smooth, opening is clunky as fuck. Work it like you stole it and it will function fine.

The biggest problem I've seen with them is the action locking up after each shot. Has happened to mine and all of my friends' adlers. After about 2-3000 rounds it starts happening and we just sent ours into Nioa and they fixed them and sent them back. Its often due to a plastic sleeve that breaks and needs to be replaced.

But it won't hurt your hands. I dont know why everyone became obsessed with wrapping the levers, if anything I find that far more uncomfortable.

I wish we could have semi auto. I would have an ar15 in a heart beat.
Thinking about heading to the states to try these fuckers out.
I haven't shot a gun in a long time, it's too hard (jumping through all the hoops to get a licence) and too expensive for me.
