I've owned a few, get a 452.

I've got the 455. It is wonderful.

Got a 452, I've won many competitions with it.

Got the full stock 455
Would recommend, CZ doesn't skimp on the wood.
First rifle I ever bought. They're great and fun to shoot, with .22lr I like bolt actions and single shots for that ultra relaxed plinking experience.

I have a 455 and a 557.
They're both pretty great, as far as modern bolt actions under a grand go.

nice
I'm going to be a contrarian and say I don't like my CZ452FS. I'm probably going to get rid of it.
I bought into the CZ hype a while back and came back disillusioned:
- The wood is super light and dents easy.
- Receiver shows wear from dragging the bolt handle against it for no reason whatsoever.
- The gun doesn't feed properly from 2 kinds of mags unless you run it pretty hard.
- Accuracy is acceptable, but mediocre.
If you want cheaper than cheap, I'd suggest Savage MkII. Looks less refined, but seems a better choice overall.
But other than that, I'd just suggest looking in the second hand market for a used Anschutz or something similar. Those things are tanks and don't wear easily, yet tend to be quite prominent on the second hand market if you look around.

Yeah, love the shit out of some good iron sights.
