So... any guesses?
>>
100 ranges were chosen to unveil the two new models (from what I gather).
The new models won't be for sale until the 29th of August, but on the 26th people can go shoot them at these 100 chosen ranges.
>>
>>34857285
It's a single action, hammer fired pistol compatible with standard glock magazines. The safety sits just below the dominant hand thumb and is naturally swept downwards while acquiring a firing grip. When in the fire position, the safety sits flush with a small ridge beneath the safety ensuring that it is not accidentally swept into the safe position. The trigger is comparable to 800 dollar 1911's and will retail at an estimated 650 dollars. Expect a slightly high street price as projected sales out pace production.
>>
>>34857316
>kek
Quite the imagination you got there
>>
Glock triple stack magazines.

The future is now.
>>
>>34857316
We already know what it is. It's literally just a glock 19 woth front slide serations and night sights.
Also some of there other handguns are gerring nightsights in future product runs.

Did you think Glock could actually try something different and not be safe and boring as fuck?
>>
Gen 5 model 17 and 19. Features are a blend of the 17M/19M, MHS contract entry and front cocking serrations.
>>
>>34857368
As far as range guns for targeting shooting and competition, is there much more you could ask for? Talking something on par with the double stack 1911's at half the price point. Let's just go nuts, what would go into your perfect pistol, mother only stipulation being that it has a glock logo on it. Any size, shape, or capacity. Assume it will come in a variety of calibers.
>>
>>34857408
I wasn't making fun of your post. That would actually be awesome.
I was merely stating that it was farfetched seeing as Glock has made a name for itself by capitalizing on what they do well, polymer striker-fired handguns.
>>
>>34857398
19fs (front serrations) is already a thing, out and available as of a while back.
This will be something different
>>
>>34857430
I know, it came through loud and clear. I actually want to come up with the "perfect" pistol that has every possible feature out of the box. What are things that work really well that you could realistically carry but also do exceptionally well in competition? Maybe a primo option with an RMR cut and a threaded barrel. Maybe some funneling on the mag well without going full race gun base?

This would be seriously cool. 7.62x25mm really, really needs a modern pistol to go with it instead of cheap communist shit from the 30s and 50s. A Glock chambered in it could give 7.62x25mm a big enough shot in the arm to make it a fun round for pistol enthusiasts to shoot and tinker with ala the 10mm instead of being ammo used by poorfags (which includes /k/ommandos), and people that want a weird round to fuck around with at the range once in a while.
It will never happen though
Would make logical sense to offer the pistols from the military trials, but they've already emphatically stated that it will not be available for sale.

People have been asking for a Glock carbine for 25 years but I can't see that happening. At least not yet.

I'd love it if it were a G19 sized 22 pistol with a 15rd magazine, but I'm not that lucky.

But that's retarded.

Short frame 17 makes sense because the grip is the hard part to conceal when CCW. This is why the 19 is a better carry weapon and why cutting a 17 down to 19 grip length is so popular.

A 19 with a 17 length grip gives you the worst of both worlds. Short sight radius and lower velocity, with a bulging long grip to print all over the place,

It literally makes no sense. A short slide 17 would not do anything better than a regular 17.

My range was selected to be one of these. I did what I could to try and get something out of them, but they where very quiet about it. They're cashing in of all of this Sig drama.

There's four possibilities.

1: 17 and 19 models with factory front serrations available to the public (not just blue label). This would be the easiest to pull out of their ass but wouldn't make much sense to send some demos out for people to try.

2: 17M/19M/"Gen 5" introduction. They've fielded the 17M long enough and gotten enough input and feedback from controlled trials to make this a perfect opportunity to go live with them.

3: US contract trial models with external safety made public. Think about it, they've got a ton laying around now and there IS a slight market of people who've wanted an external safety.

4: A rifle. There's three 150 yard rifle ranges at their GA factory in the testing wing...

Whatever it is, don't expect much. Like I said they're jumping on the opportunity to try and win over some sigfags as fast as possible. If the one I'm due to get shows up early and it's something interesting... Well, there's a lot of cameras in a gun shop, not the safest place if you don't want a photo of something to "leak".

I'd give up my left nut for a GLOCK-brand GLOCK pistol that takes GLOCKAZINES and fires GLOCK BULLETS with an external safety.
>>
>>34873788
Why?
>>
>>34873677
It all just seems like a lot of hullabaloo over nothing, but I suppose it's good marketing at least.
>>
>>34873796
Glock rifle would be a novelty, and if it doesn't suck and is boring/reliable, it'd be a useful gun to have.

Glock with external safety, is because external safeties are actually good. Ask anyone with Glock Leg.
>>
>>34873852
Exactly. Here's to hoping it's something actually worth a fuck that they didn't throw out the doors as fast as they could to cash in on the 320 shit.

They said there would be TWO models sent to each range. Speculation is there's actually two new models being announced, but I'm assuming it's two of the same to allow more people to try them at once. However, if it is two new models instead of one it would make sense that the 17/19 would be the basis for whatever they have in store.
>>
Is it just me or does anybody else think that the manual safety on the MHS glock looks like a half formed abortion compared to the sigs?

The thing almost looks like a decocker. I would like a glock with a safety but if it's unergonomic and not brainlessly easy to actuate then that kinda defeat the point...

If it's anything like the one that's been around forever it's going to be a simple trigger bar block. This one was rotated upward and captured the crucifix within the trigger housing, securing it from forward or rearward motion.

Looks like they just picked the low hanging fruit and ran with it.

I want a hugeass big safety thing that's kinda along the frame or easy to touch like a 1911 safety, not the little clickey abomination on the M&P Shield nor some heinous slide-mounted safety :(

Looks like someone managed to get an order in for one via blue label somehow? If this is legitimate, it's Generation Five.

-A new tougher finish
-Changes in the rifling
-Longer recoil spring assembly
-Reinforced forward notch for the recoil spring assembly
-A smoother trigger similar to the G42/43
-Flared magwell
-No finger grooved
-Changes in the safety plunger
-Ambidextrous slide release
-Magazines have an extended front lip
-Magazine well cutout

Considering they're easy to find for $400 new, and that they actually work and hold up quite well, they're hardly comparable to Apple products.

Kimber would be closer, all a bunch of flashy and expensive 1911s, that feature a nice trigger but often a shoddy everything else due to non-existent QC.
Also they used to be good once, so they actually fit Apple quite well.
