In 2011, Russian and Indian press reports started attributing even less stealth to the aircraft. Military journalist Dmitriy Litovkin, writing in Izvestya, stated that the PAK T-50’s RCS “will be equal to 0.5 square meters

that sounds like bullshit. a clean config F-16 and F/A-18 has a RCS of 1m2, throw on some missiles and bombs and now it's around 8m2

Su-57 with internal weapons probably has a rcs of 0.1 to 0.3, so how is that in the same league as 4th gen?
>>
>>34856840
> Sukhoi's patent of the Su-57's stealth features cites an average RCS of the aircraft of approximately 0.1-1 square meters.

welp, .1- 1 square meters right on their own patent. Good luck with that "stealth".

The Su-57 actually has internal weapons carriage though, so it's RCS should at least remain that size, unlike 4/4.5 gen fighters that have ~1m^2 rcs in theory but with weapons/tanks much more.

Still obviously a different league to F-35/22/B-2

The Air Force was religious about following doctrine at the time. They used a 4-fighter formation for combat ops that made the F-4 completely blind to rear attacks, which Mig pilots took advantage of. Navy fighters used 2-ship formations, which, along with better training, resulted in far better K:L ratios the entire war.

A wild guess - they name the fighters by the years comparing first flight, since the first model i.e. - first flight of su-35 is 1988, first flight of su-57 is 2010

2010-1988 = 22

33+22 = 55 , well round it off a bit and take some undocumented test flights into account and it's somewhere around that
>>
>>34868775
There are materials that are transparent, absorbent, and reflective to light as there are materials that do the same thing for radar waves. These materials are used as well as they can be used. Think camouflage; blending in, that sort of thing. Planes are coloured grey for a reason. B52's carefully alter their altitude to make themselves blend into the sky, from the perspective of people on the ground.

Unless you manage to overwhelm the enemy completely (eg WW2), having more of your guys die than the enemy isn't winning, regardless of whether the other guy's politicians decide to pull out before the job is done.

>Remember when serbs shot down F-117A with an soviet S-125
Yes, I do. But then again, that isn't doing you any good to bring it up. Losing only one plane to hostile fire in a thirty year history when it's job was to fly into the most heavily defended targets and strike with PGMs is nothing short of statistical noise, especially when the Serb commander himself said he was just lucky the missile hit.

>Also, in Vietnam the U.S air force was being shoot down by Soviet Migs
And Migs were being flamed by the dozen in Vietnam, so much so that by the time hostilities ended, the VPAF was flying only bare defensive sorties over their own bases as that's all they could afford to do.

>Also, you have mention wars during the cold war not now, Russia had upgraded their Military.
Want to know the biggest upgrade made to the Su-27 fleet from 1991-2008? It was a conformal fuel tank that added a small amount to the internal fuel reserve and was placed on the "spine" of the plane. Hardly an upgrade. Even today they're still having trouble getting new tech to their troops (or even producing it).
