On actual non-humanoid abberations? Realistically, something that will maximize your volume of fire as much as possible. For most of the USA /k/, that'll be their AR or AK or whatever other semi-auto they have. Otherwise, a shotgun with buckshot. Assuming they're fleshy, just doing the most physical damage and maximizing wound channels and potential of blood loss would be best.

It doesn't matter. It's probably a single use item anyways. I doubt many chainsaws could cut more than one entity up before being clogged with gore, it would make anything else without a projectile weapon think twice before attacking you.
