Apparently Thompson is doing a rebate for these rifles and they're both about $250, probably closer to $300 after transfers and shipping. Anyone owned one of these? And how does 308 stack against 30.06 if I live on the eastern seaboard for hunting (probably boar and deer?)

I just got the 6.5 with scope for 210 after rebate. Love the gun. It's the best bang for the buck right now for a bare bones bolt gun.
I zero'd in a few shots and was ringing steel for the rest of the box (only had 1 box with me).
You don't need 30.06 for deer bro.
Go 308 or 6.5.
