There's literally nothing wrong with trying to modernize the AKM. Stop memeing. Sometimes they even look better than the original. Throw a light on the ultimak and the red dot on an RS Regulate mount instead and I think you have a perfectly modernized AK rifle.

Not an argument. The prevalence and accessibility of night fighting capabilities in today's age is like red dots in the early 2000's. Not many people used them but they were what constituted the difference between a rifle essentially from 1960's tech and modern tech. The same applies today and is what differentiates a modernly equipped rifle and one from the early 2000's in capability with granular refinements in new models of dots/lights.

Almost all people that have red dots don't need to use them either. Rather, they buy it because of the capability it provides is appreciated rather than an established need. The same reasoning can be applied to NVG's/PEQ's.
