So the slide is stuck and there's a rod stuck in the barrel? I would clamp the rod into a bench vise and try to pull the gun off of the rod.

Pull the cleaning rod out and see what is going on in the barrel, my bet is stuck case, in which case pour oil down the thing and try to punch it out with a brass rod.

my 'neighborhood color' was firing off rounds for 4th of july down the street. The next day I walked by and there were multiple unfired aluminum cased 9mm laying on the ground. Maybe 20-30 shots went off, and they had multiple failures with that shit.

Anon, I don't have any advice really, aside from 'be careful'. For all we know, the firing pin is resting against it's primer and any jolt could set it off.

Ok, I think it has something to do with the extractor maybe? When I put the slide on and rack it, the chamber doesn't open.
Thoughts?

Remove the spring guide and then pull the barrel down and out of the slide. You should be able to slide the barrel and stuck case from the slide. Once you remove the barrel, you can punch out the case.

see the end of the guide rod/spring that is visible in the last pic you posted? Push that in, toward the muzzle (away from the part of the barrel it is pressed up agains) just a bit, and pull the guide rod and spring down away from the gun. Should come right out.

See the piece of plastic enclosed by a spring underneath the barrel? Push the plastic piece to the right (toward the business end of the slide) and then pull it down off the barrel. Remove it, then the barrel should freely move. Push the barrel to the right slightly, then down and out of the slide.

From the company's site, just so you know:
>On some Star pistols, notably the Firestar series, it's moderately common to get the takedown pin inserted improperly, so that the gun will not function and cannot apparently be stripped again. Reader Jeffery Simmons documented his solution to it and has shared it. Hold the trigger and hammer both fully to the rear. While this is happening (get a helper if you need) pull the slide back while lightly pushing the takedown pin right to left until it goes back far enough it comes out and remove the slide as normal.

Casing was stuck in the chamber, snacking the barrel with a wrench dislodged it.

I have to star model BM and although it isn't a sns, it leaves a lot to be desired. the slide has a hairline fracture on the safety groove and sometimes the pin works it way out while shooting. one I shot a round and when the slide cycled, the pin fell out and the whole slide assembly flew about 7 feet down range.

In my younger years I used to know a heroine dealer who carried one of those in his sock.

He brought it to me one day and asked for help making it cycle, apparently it jammed on him when he fired a couple shots during a deal-turned-robbery.

I filed down the slide in a few places and gave it a deep cleaning,then dunked it in hydrogen peroxide then rubbing alcohol to rid any of my DNA from the parts.

I tested it, worked great afterwards.
