Post your favorite camo painted gun.
I want inspiration before painting my bolt action.
How do I make a waifu gun /k/?

Step 1: You Don't
Step 2: Get yourself a proper raifu instead.
I'm practicing some rattle can camo techniques. This is from this morning.
Previously, I tried using petroleum jelly to mask the layers. The paint dried on top of the vaseline and it's a mess to remove. This time, I just used paiter's tape torn by hand to get jagged edges.
The black came out great. The green is not my favorite shade, and I can go heavier on the brown in the future. The tan is terrible. Little rectangles are a bad idea.
My next attempt, I might be just get rid of the tan. Or find a different masking material for it. Perhaps dishsoap.

I also tried a tan verticle strip pattern. My idea, start with the black stripes, then tan all over, then brown fade from the top. Last step was suppose to be a LIGHT mist over everything with this red-brown.
The red-brown covers really well. Even with a quick pass from over a foot away, it covered everything. The stripes turned out too thick. Overall, I'm not happy with either right now.

Tearing tape is a pain. Smearing Vaseline on takes 2 seconds, but this took me 30 minutes.

that looks pretty good, BUT pitch black is a very bad thing to have in a camouflage pattern, especially as 50% or more of the surface area
very few things in nature are pitch black, so it immediately draws eyes unless it's used sparingly like in DPM and flecktarn

You seem to have no taste in tactical operator aesthetics, but that's fine
I only painted one of my guns, it came out ok. Looks better now that it's a little worn down and beaten up.

Should have painted the entire gun/accessories

Squid did really good with that one.
My consciousness has traveled beyond the plane of patterned existence and across the threshold to 5D solid colors.

it was just for practice, I'm going to paint the whole thing when i grab a boyds tacticool stock for it.

Op here: Fabarm STF12, I think it's the best pump shotgun that exists. It was designed to get adopted by most SF/police forces

1400€

1.Put your tape on a cutting board and cut it with an xacto
2. peel off freshly cut stencils
3. apply to gun and paint
4.???
5. Profit
Maybe I should give up with the 4 color shit and follow daddy's advice

Ah, yes. Green: the choice of shooters with class and an appreciation for history.

The semi-failed spray paint job I did a few weeks ago. It didn't turn out as well as I had wanted; I tried to get the snakeskin pattern using net mesh, but only in a few spots did it turn out very pronounced.
I used a 3-color over 2-color scheme. Sand and brown alternating as the base, with Olive, Brown and Sand, alternating in such a way that no color overlapped itself.
I used actual Krylon-brand this time, and the paint dried much better and seems to have better adherence than the Rustoleum Camouflage line I used previously. However, the different style of nozzle (especially on the Sand) was spitting paint everywhere; it was difficult to get it to spray cleanly, even from a brand new can.
I'm okay with how it turned out anyway, since I wanted a "muddy" look to it. I just wish I could have gotten the pattern to stick out more.
