Vortex Crossfire II scopes are very popular, I have one on my .223. It shits all over my Leupold and was only $200aud,
Leupold scopes are very nice too though. Most people go for a 3-9x power. I have .223s with both a 4-12 and a 3-9x and I prefer the 3-9x.

Nikon prostaff-223 sounds like the ticket for you, anon.

I don't have experience with the .223 version, but I own the .22 configuration and have been tremendously impressed with all aspects of it for the price.
