ok, Ill grant you that assumption because russian military spec SVD has a sub optimal twist rate based on its requirement of needing to stabilize tracers, API, and non-match grade existing x54r, but the SVD platform itself [short stroke piston action] has the *potential* for higher accuracy. If the chosen twist rate wasn't geared towards that multi-purpose role, it would have a lower MOA. I'd have to do a little research, but I'd be willing to bet you can get sub-MOA out of 308 tigrs and purpose made x54r for SVDs

No, they're cool and fun to shoot but not worth anywhere near that much. There are newer rifles that do better for less. Hell, standard TIGRs have thicker barrels that produce better accuracy.

I am the guy who got the forgotten weapons video rifle. I haven't tried actually grouping the gun, but I can reliably hit a 10" steel gong at 200 yards, using brown bear. That takes real effort on my part though.

They still kick pretty hard, autoloader or not. Certainly not M4 performance. I was surprised at how little the autoloading reduced the recoil from a standard Mosin.

Its mental how much they go for in the US, I paid $2000NZ for my Tigr back in 07, now theyre $3500, so I got a deal on it.

As rifles go, they're solid and have a very smooth action compared to other comblock rifles.
Compared to modern sporter rifles they're pretty dated, however.

Ive managed relatively consistant 2"-3" groups around 100m with 174gr FMJ barnaul, it seems a bit less accurate with the heavier hunting loads.
I'm no great marksman though.

Most of these countries are still using them though. Poles and Czechs have modernized theirs and still use them as the SWDM.
