Is this the best PDW on the market right now?

>configured for common pistol cartridges like 9mm, .45 and 10mm
>can apparently buy .40S&W and .357Sig lowers if you feel frisky
>uses common Glock magazines
>small footprint, plus the buttstock folds to make it even smaller
>pretty small footprint with a silencer
>available as a pistol and is easy to convert to an SBR, so you can practice with it as a pistol while waiting for your tax stamp to come in

The PS90 is another option, but it uses expensive/uncommon ammo, has a larger footprint that doesn't fold, has slow/awkward mag changes, finding a reflex sight that fits low is an ordeal, short barrels are expensive/rare, and the bullpup design makes clearing a jam a major ordeal.

A short barrel, pistol caliber AR-15 is another option, of course, and more common, probably available cheaper, but not as small of a footprint as a Vector.

Then again, is the PDW irrelevant?

Fascinating....
>>
>>34838477
The whole point of the Vector is the rate of fire. So when it's semi you lose its big appeal.
>>
>>34838477
that doesn't look like an mp7 to me.

It's just a Glock with a giant plastic shell to make it look bigger.
>>
>>34838594
You tried, at least. I'll wait for America to wake up.
>>
>>34838477
isn't the point of a pdw that it's an SMG that fires tinier rifle bullets? this is just an SMG.

How about just taking a pistol and slapping a foregrip and a stock on it? Same effectiveness in a cheaper, lighter, and more compact package.
>>
>>34838564
There are no PDWs on the market because the concept was developed after 1986.

The definition has shifted. Initially, a PDW was any weapon issued to people who didn't have fighting as a main job but still needed something relatively effective just in case. Arguably, the first PDW in US Military service was the M1 Carbine. Once SMGs really came into their stride, compact SMGs became the go-to for PDW purposes. H&K, for example, came up with the MP5K, and later the MP5K-PDW(Which was a K but with a folding stock attached so it wasn't completely useless). Sometime in the 80s, the definition shifted again when the US Military put out an RFI for a PDW type weapon capable of popping Soviet Helmets and soft body armor out to 100 meters. This RFI is what prompted the creation of the FN P90 and later the H&K MP7. So, long story short: These days, yes, PDW is shorthand for a SMG sized gun that shoots bottlenecked high velocity ammo(usually with steel core or other kinds of penetrators) specifically to be able to consistently defeat soft body armor. They're also pretty much ignored nowadays by everyone except VIP protection people: Armor Plates made PDWs useless for warfare, and the migration of Law Enforcement to intermediate caliber carbines and away from SMGs negated the need for PDWs because rifle rounds will already go right through soft body armor without any gimmicks.

>>

It shoots great - The funky action and geometry absorb so much of the recoil there is barely any muzzle rise.

With a holo sight it's so easy to place shots @ 30 yards, that it feels like cheating

But it's a bitch to clean
>>
>>34838477
I wonder what the vector would be like in 556 with a longer barrel and such.
Would it even work?
>>
>>34838728
It's a shame, because SMGs are pure sexy awesomeness

10mm you say?

Well that might change my mind about it's meme status.
>>
>>34838671
Its just a gimmick product
>>
>>34838663
You could achieve the same recoil reduction by adding 4lb of cast iron to your handgun.
>>
>>34839583
NAh, the 10mm has so much frame wobble that the mags fall out under normal firing conditions. .45 or 9mm would be the way to go unfortunately. (I really like the idea of 10mm with the carbine length barrel though- I'm a mall ninja that still wants a brush gun)
>>
>>34839815
Well that sucks, no way to tighten up the parts? I'd definitely get the .45 over the 9 then.
>>
>>34838477
None Amerilard here, can you answer this?
If you need a tax stamp to SBR, and you also need a stamp for a silencer, can't you just go the whole hog and get a stamp to go full retard with it too?
Or does that instantly get doggo murdered?
>>
>>34840063
You can't get a full retard stamp those don't exist. Unless you are an FFL you can't get a select fire gun manufactured post-1986.
>>
>>34840082
Ahh, I see.
Thanks for clearing that up.

I was looking at this or the or the roni kiit, I decided on the roni kit, because it wasn't $1500 and it uses common glocks of multiple calibres
