Hey /k/
Im looking into converting my Ruger 10/22 into an M1 Carbine tribute. I've gotten the stock and sights figured out, but I'm not sure how to get the magazine to look correct. I found this image in a forum, where the poster explained how he did it by posting a 404'd link. Anyone on here able to figure out what he did by the image he posted?

Looks like a cut down M1 magazine either welded or epoxied normal 10 round magazine, fiddle around with a used promag, they're only like 10 bucks
This?

I may end up using this mag, but it just doesn't look like the actual mag that holds .30 carbine.

It's not, I think it's for a Thomson build. I think the site sold the carbine mags at one point but don't anymore.
I'd go the reproduction magazine modification route the korean mags are literally 10 bucks with free shipping on GB http://www.gunbroker.com/item/679966764

So maybe find a way to attach this:

Did you convert a m1 stock, or did you buy the repro for the 10/22 OP?

I havn't actually gotten all the pieces yet, I've just got the ruger 10/22. I planned on buying this:

Yeah, it shouldn't be hard.
>cut mag to about what the seating depth would be if it was a real mag
>get sheet steel and bend it to make kind of a follower
>use strong epoxy to fasten it
>let it cure
>now epoxy the mag onto the shell
Ir stop being a fag and just buy an m1 carbine?

I would love to have a legit carbine, but the price is high and .22s are cheaper to shoot lol

The wood scratches very easily but otherwise it's fun to shoot. The current ones in stock have the sling swivel on the metal band which is mew realistic than the ones they sold before.

I just bought a wood dummy magazine, cut it down some, and epoxied it to the 10/22 rotary magazine.
>>34838386
Oh good! So you actually purchased the stock from that website?
>>34838389
>dummy mags cost almost as much as a repro mag
Imagine the weight would feel nicer at least
>>34838412
Yes I did. While you're at it you should buy the tech sights and the handguard without the rear sight hole too for extra realism.

Nice. I've been working on this the last week, bubbaing a old stock I found at a flee market.
