Where can I get a Big Iron?
Basically a SAA with an 1860 grip and cut down marlin barrel.
Optionally with notches numbering 1 and 19 more.

From my cold, dead hand

If both guns are from the same manufacturer, you should be able to put an 1860 grip frame on an SAA with no problem. As for the Marlin barrel, I don't know. Just get a 7.5" cavalry barrel and be done with it.

Every time I hear the song, I hope that Texas Red wins and every single time that kike Arizona Ranger shoots him down.

How about a birdshead on an 1860?

Not quite the real Big Iron, but it's purdy

Im pretty sure Taylors sells one
IN THE TOWN OF AUGA FRIEA ROAD A STRANGER ONE FINE DAY

But, mine's real

Looks like a Richards conversion to me.
It's certainly not an SAA with an 1860 grip frame and a cut down 9.5 inch marlin rifle barrel.
>>34835533
Should also work. All of those grips were meant to be interchangeable
>>34835613
My point is, the Big Iron" you're talking about doesn't exist. Never has.

>The Ranger's "Big Iron" actually existed. It was a one-off custom handgun chambered in .45 Colt and featured a Great Western copy of the Colt Single Action Army frame, Colt 1860 Army backstrap, grip frame and grips and a cut down 9 1/2" Marlin rifle barrel. Marty Robbins saw it in Andy Anderson's famed North Hollywood gun shop in the late 1950s and wrote the song around it. Its current whereabouts are unknown.

That claim isn't substantiated by the way.
If anything, the Big Iron was probably a Buntline

Millions of people say Jesus was real too.
>>34835713
This, however it's nice to dream, the big iron could even be a long barreled walker, which is what i would think he'd be singing about
>>34835682
You know MR never describes the gun in the song. Anyone could have made that shit up.
>>34835104
It was Texas Red's gun that has the 20 notches on it for all the lawmen he's killed, you fucking plebe.
The ranger is too classy as fuck to scribe notches on his big iron.
>>34835735
>>34835754
21 would be the ranger with a big iron on his hip.
Big iron on his hiiiiiiiiip.
>>34835735
I always assumed it was a walker or maybe a schofield
