I always liked Colin. Superpowering your basic units to take out heavy tanks when rich enough is pretty great

Apparently the guys who made Starbound are making an advance wars style game (Starbound fucking sucks I know) From what I've seen it looks somewhat promising. The maps look alright, the sprite work is tight. Hopefully they'll be more up to the challenge of making something with well defined borders rather than the over reaching all too ambitious shit pot that was Starbound. Advance Wars is simple enough when you get down to it. Hopefully they just emulate what made Advance Wars good and keep it neat and tidy.

The fantasy theme seems neat. I'm hoping it's good but I won't be buying until the reviews come in and I can see some gameplay. I remain hopeful yet cautious.

I still think Days of Ruin was the best game but I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss Grit and a lot of the old characters. That nonchalant way he handled global war will always make me smile as he nukes some fool from across the map with his insanely powerful rockets. I put so much time into AW 2 and DS I got to where I could almost play the damn games in my sleep.

I hate that they haven't made a new game, there's nothinglike it on handhelds nowadays and ever since Fire Emblem became waifu simulator 2017 edition I miss having proper strategy games that I can carry in my pocket.

The worst part is if they did bring it back I'm worried they would change it to the point where we wouldn't even recognize it anymore, like making it 3d, or real time, which is fucking hell to play on a handheld.

It just feels like the most balanced game. CO abilities can be countered, no insane bullshit units like Neotanks, everything has an answer. A lot of the units got a much needed power boost too, like cruisers and light tanks.

I never got the hate for it. If you want a legitimately balanced strategy game it was about the best you could find on a handheld. Wish it had more War Room missions though.

I personally particularly liked how the aircraft carriers and battleships were buffed. And all of the new units worked great. If it had had the same cutesy art style, everyone would have eaten it up.
