So I want to get into hunting. White tail and boar season are coming up in a few WMAs I selected and scouted via Google maps.

What's a good load for a 100+ buck. Will hornady training .223 do the trick(55gr)? I can handload hornady 75he BHTP or order nosler ballistic tip

I'm in Texas so our whitetails are pretty small compared to many other states. Even so, I would have to be real confident of the shot for
a fair sized buck with 223.

The ammo you mentioned doesn't sound well suited. Why not either buy a bespoke hunting load or load with any of the actually proven game projectiles instead of match bullets?

Barnes TTSX, Bonded Noslers, Speer or Winchester Bondeds, etc

A bonded bullet, like nosler partition. Federal loads them in 223 now.
Even Remington core-lokt works.

A hp match bullet is terrible for a hunting application such as deer.
