>it doesn't look 100% like the original so it's shit

wow when is /k/ going to grow up? you DO realize that it's still so accurate you can drop in original parts?
>>
>>34832223
certain parts sure, but most, no

it uses an MKb42 carrier, G3 trigger, AR mags, and a completely different barrel and handguard

you can drop in a buttstock and grip plates and some other small parts, but the gun, as a whole is completely different

it just looks sorta like an StG
>>
>>34832223

The ONLY reason to buy one of these is because you can't afford a real one. It can't compete on performance/accessories with modern guns so all it has going for it is aesthetics. THEY FUCKED UP THE AESTHETICS.
>>
>>34832291
Of what? It's an STG-M, not an StG-44 clone.
>>
Is /k/ gonna bitch as much as they do about this when anon finishes his simplified Luger?

HMG changed the staining on the stocks for some reason

just AWFUL
>>
>>34832310
so, it's a rifle, based on a historic rifle, that only looks sorta like said historic rifle, but is heavier and has fewer accessories available than modern rifles

what is the appeal?
>>

>>
>>34832334
>hurr durr I posted it again
Not an argument, and not an answer to any of his criticisms.

1. It's only vaguely shaped like an StG
2. It has no historical value
3. It's inferior to a proper modern rifle

It's literally for LARPing and movie props. Might as well have made it airsoft.
>>
>>34832329
It's cool.
Also the interchangeable calibers/barrels thing.
>>
>>34832352
>it's not 100% matching so that means it has no appeal

lol

have you ever considered that there are people out there who are willing to settle for "good enough"
>>
>>34832334
>it's not 100% matching so its shit

Correct.
>>
>>34832368
>hurr durr I posted it again

It's a rifle made for idiots and wehraboos. Why would you "settle" for an expensive clone of a gun designed to be cheap?
>>
>>34832352
1. And? It still looks cool and is tilting bolt.
2. A "modernized take" on a historical firearm has no historical value? Color me fucking shocked.
3. Anything that isn't an AR is inferior to an AR at its given price point so this argument is pointless.

Anon too poor to justify buying a range toy is mad that a company is making a range toy. More at 11.

> why dun they mayk gun i wantz?
Because faggots like you arent a majority of the market, its not a fucking rifle anyones going to use for more than showing off, no ones picking this as a SHTF gun.
>>
>>34832473
An actual STG is tens of thousands of dollars, i doubt you can unsarcastically call someone poorfag for wanting a cheaper alternative that isnt completely accurate but costs thousands less.
>>
>>34832129
>imbalanced aesthetics with wooden furniture only on the stock and pistol grip
>>
>>34832555
They'd probably cry less if it were closer to $1,100. I personally don't mind the price, I spent $3,000 over the last year on a truck I haven't even gotten back on the road yet and $1,100 on a computer so $1,700 for something like this, while steep, isn't that much of a bother to me.

I can still understand their frustration, I just don't agree with it. I'd say their complaints are better reserved for PTR fucking up the one chance we got at BD-44 imports of an ACTUAL StG clone that was intended to be built as such. The STG-M was, at no point, ever going to be a replica nor did anyone ever claim it would be. It's a silly thing to be mad about.
>>
>>34832223
but it only looks maybe 50% like the original. that's acceptable for you?
>>
>>34832668
It's more like 80%
>>
>Modern variant of a gun that is pretty much unicorn-tier
It uses the same operating mechanism, which is what I care about.
>>
>>34832352
>It's literally for LARPing and movie props. Might as well have made it airsoft.
that's like 90% of guns already. It's just a different aesthetic.
>>
It's a cheap alternative to the actual thing; that's all it is, that's all it's supposed to be. If you want the actual thing, buy it. This isn't a hard concept /k/

>that stock color
>>
>>34832750
There is a person with autism on this board who thinks it should be an exact replica for under $500.
>>
>>34832668
They never tried to claim it would be anything more than that, so, yeah. I still like it for what it is, even if that means it's "developed from" the StG rather than a clone of it.

For what it's worth, I don't know if I would buy an StG clone. The BD-44, which is an exact clone, still has the same problems as the original according to both owners and SSD, primarily concerning durability. I'm not going to try to make the excuse that the STG-M is what it is to fix those problems, because I doubt that was even part of the idea, but you're not going to be able to put "StG clone" and "good rifle" in the same sentence without making some changes. There were sacrifices made in the design that resulted in a very short service life and a fragile receiver, and high quality materials can only go so far to mitigate the consequences.
>>
>>34832165
Only if you change it in 8mm kurz
>>
>>34832695
ehhhh that's a stretch. I'll give you 60%
>>
>>34832777
I agree with you, but I think it looks like ass. it looks like an stg on acid. I think they should have hired someone with an eye for aesthetics to help design it because as it is, it looks like an inbred cousin of a stg that will be on an episode of forgotten weapons along with other ugly prototype guns.
>>

they have stated many times that they went with what would sell the most units.
they fully admit that they are NOT making a $100% clone but something that looks and functions close enough to the original but is easy to make and sell

How exactly is the PTR on the market? It costs as much as a F/A FNC.
And the FNC will actually WORK.
>>
question; can one even find 7.92×33mm ammo these days?
>>
>>34834800
Yes, Karl has all of it and will let you have some if you wear a dirndl dress and say hitler did nithing wrong
>>
>>34834800
Easily. It's quite available. Most of it is Prvi Partizan.
You should be more surprised that we're actually getting 9x39.
>>
>>34834800
PPU sells some. Something like 15 bucks per 20?
>>
>>34834830
i have zero problems with that proposition.
>>
What's so bad about AR mags?
>>
>>34832192
To be fair, reverse-engineering a 100% clone is really fucking hard if you don't have the resources. A lot of people don't understand how hard it is to manufacture literally anything without having the original specifications - especially guns.

Also to be fair, I'd only buy a 100% clone.
>>
So why buy this and not an AK74? I mean, that looks close enough, doesn't it?
>>
>>34835166
They did say there was a lot of incomplete documentation.
But again, they also said they were never making a clone, but a "modernized take" on the rifle.
Also see >>34832777 for my opinion on StG clones.
>>
>>34835131
It looks weird.
>>34835177
Sure, just show me the tilting-bolt '74 you found.
>>
>>34835166
the thing is, they could have kept a lot of the improvements without making so many aesthetic compromises
making it in other calibers and making it take AR mags was a huge one for me
distorted the whole receiver and proportions of the gun

the lazy ass trigger/lower dimpling is another big one
>>
>>34835131
longer front to back so they distort the whole receiver
>>
>>34835189
Why would the tilting bolt be a sticking point? If you're compromising on so much to get a gun that looks roughly analogous to an STG, why would the manner of operation make any difference.
>>
>>34836802
Because that's the entire point. It's developed from it and uses the same operating principle while still being somewhat more modern. Oh, and the caliber-change barrel sets aren't vaporware so that's also a plus.
>>
>>34836934
then why not get an FAL or an SKS or a MAS-49?
probably because the tilting bolt isn't the part that matters because it all matters
>>
>>34837057
Because I already said, it's developed from the StG, and that is neat.
>>
>>34832129
>flawless
