>>
>>34830787
Not the same amount of demand
>>
You should be able to tell by looking at the fucking gun.
Also economies of scale.
>>
idk but i fucking want one, never had a thing for the garand but by god is the m14 sexy
>>
I bought a cheap polytech M-14S a couple weeks ago, put 100 rounds through it all right so far. Am I going to regret not paying the extra $500-$1000 for an actual new M1A?
>>
>>34830787
>aluminum vs steel
>>
>>34830925
I doubt it. I don't own any, but everyone loves polytech AKs, and Chinese firearms in general are pretty damn well made.
>>
>>34830787
Economy of scale, there's a huge demand for ARs, a lot of people make them, so the market is more competitive, on top of production being down to a well understood science.

Meanwhile, few people make M14
>>
>>34830982
*few people make M14 rifles, and there's less demand.

Consider also that back when Colt had sole rights to the AR15, it would cost about double
>>
>>34830938
Polytech M14s aren't 'quite' as nice as American ones but they hold up still.
>>
They have to get as much money as possible out of the few retards who actually buy them over an AR-10
>>
>>34830787
Why the fuck are we allowing kids to get a highschool diploma without taking an econ class?
>>
>>34830825
but wouldn't higher demand mean that ARs would be more expensive?
>>
>>34831009
AR-10's are expensive as well.
>>
>>34831410

AR-10 $800

M1A $1300

For $500 dollars less you can get a more reliable more accurate gun with a bigger aftermarket
>>
>>34831624
But it wasn't the standard issue gun for the us military.
Fudds gotta have dat military issue

>Hi-Power discontinued while 1911s flood the market forever with no end in sight
>no sporter FNCs while ARs are cheaper than AKs
GOD DAMN IT
>>
>>34831662
I own a 1911...
In .38 super.
it pisses off the fudds at my local range, more so when I tell them John Browning was originally designing it for .38
>>
>>34830925
I'm 1-2k rounds into mine and I fucking love it
>>
>>34831354
I'm not paying higher school taxes so a bunch of ungrateful brats are forced to listen to the governments version of economics. If they cared enough about not being retarded they would read and educate themselves.
>>
The m1a receiver takes a fuckload of machining and complicated angles to get a final product while the ar your can have a highschooler finish from a forging. Time=money
>>
>>34831624
You don't buy a m14 to have the most reliable accurate rifle with a big after market, you buy a m14 because you want a m14
>>
>>34830925
>>34831004
No, you will not regret passing on any Springfield Armory product in any form. It's all fake. They are assembled from parts manufactured in Taiwan.
DO NOT buy from "Springfield Armory," it is a disgrace to the actual American Springfield Armory, the retired plant in Springfield, Massachusetts.
>>
>>34831817
>Springfield shill working hard on trying to mitigate the damage of the shit they did
>>
>>34831865
>DO NOT BUY FROM SPRINGFIELD
>lol Springfield shill
What the fuck drugs are you on, son?
>>
>>34831865
>calls >>34831817 a shill, when >>34831817 is actively discouraging anyone from buying Springfield products and pointing out that Springfield armory today has absolutely nothing to do with Springfield Armory of the past

what did he mean by this??

>>34831786
People think ARs are super complex to make, but really between aluminum cutting and polymer molding they are stupidly easy to make with minimal equipment.
>>
>>34831865
Did you even read his post you fucking dumbass
>>
>>34831917
>>34831905
>>34831899
I missed that 'not'. This is embarrassing.
>>
>>34831662
just buy a cz 75. literally a better hi power.
>>
>>34831366
Thats only true for certain situations. AR-15's are easy to produce en mass.
Why do you think people can make their own lowers?
Thats why theres also so many companies making it.
The only thing stopping you from getting a 1k AR and an 800 dollar AR is who you buy it from.
But if it's mil spec, you might as well call that extra 200 dollars a charitable donation.
M14's aren't the case. People dont want them as much because they can easily get a SCAR, PTR, FAL, or even an AR-10 that can beat it with flying stars.
So when someone DOES want an M14. They have to use the less maintained, less used, old machinery to manufacture the M14's.
>>
>>34830787
Because semiauto 7.62 is way harder than semiauto .223
>>
>>34831662
If FN would bother to update the HP at all beyond 80s tier bs it wouldn't be an issue. Granted I'm sure there are more than a fee of us that feel like announcing the discontinuation is a way to sell HPs. FNCs would just have to go through the same shit as civi scars, which would then crank the price up higher
>>
>>34831771
What a great way to prove you want to be further surrounded by idiots. Think about the things you cared about then you were between 15 and 25. See why you're retarded
>>
>>34831934
Aside from not being a hi-power of course
>>
>>34830837
Had both. Miss the Garand more than the m1a nm.
I'm looking at a bm 59 now.
>>
>that feel when you missed out on the $600 garands from cmp many moons ago

Still kicking myself
>>
>>34830787
The manufacturing process for the M14 is obscenely complex. Hardly anyone makes them. AR's are simple as fuck and everyone makes them. You could've solved this conundrum if you just used your big-boy brain for a couple of seconds.
>>
>>34831721
How easy it it to convert a gi 1911 from .45 to .38 super? Is it just a barrel swap?
