Hmm I could have sworn there's very old case law at either the supreme court or at least federal level that more or less states taxing firearms/ammo such that it prevents poor people from owning guns is unconstitutional.

Firearms taxes already existed in various forms before this but I wonder if this could be challenged at the federal level.
