I'm biased since I own an M9, but they're both excellent pistols. The only difference is the M9 is mid-size and the L9 is full-size so it just depends on what your preference is.

Some people say the L9 is better balanced.

What is the trigger like on an M9? Can you conceal it? I'm 6'1" and in pretty good shape. I'm an exercise physiologist at a VA in a nasty neighborhood, and am allowed to carry a gun while going to and from car/office.

This is the only Steyr I own, but there's an M9 (no A1 so no Pic rail) pistol for sale locally for $360. Thoughts? My dad has an M40 and I find it rather comfortable, but I understand that mags are $$$

I want to get the STG 77 40th Anniversary rifle but its way too overpriced for what you get. Comes in a flimsy cardboard box with the rifle, 1 mag, user manual for an A3, and little plastic scope caps. Plus people have had to send their rifles back to Steyr because the scope adjustments break...and to top it all off you have to zero the rifle at like 5 yards because its so out of adjustment.

The magazine release is just ridiculous. No complaints with the grip angle, trigger or sights as they are all comparable to its contemporaries. The tip-up barrel for single loading is an interesting feature. The lack of extractor is puzzling as Bergmann tried the same thing in the 1890's and determined they were indeed a good feature for a pistol.
