First huh
What vest or something smaller can I run under the D3CR to keep a radio to my side like in the pic. I don't want to keep it in a front pouch. I don't have a PC yet (probably won't for a while) so I don't have anything but straps on my side. Should I rig a pouch on the straps or something? Anything to give me some molle webbing on the side that'll let me keep the flatpack on aswell? Any better way to run it in general?

It depends, the ability to adjust for your torso is fantastic, but a lot of manufacturers have gone to adjustable harnesses now. MR's ridiculously thin shoulder straps can be both great if wearing over armor, but just fucking suck on their own. They always just cut deep into my arm pits after a few hours & i have a NICE frame that tried to twist me in opposite directions which fucking sucked & gave me nerve pain that lasted a long, long time.

IF they work for you great, if they don't they can be total butt.

What do you guys think about this for a start?

Only one pouch because i've never owned or seen any so i want to test them ou first before buying all the accessories i want, and because i don't like spending money.
Also i'm not buying a plater carrier because plates are hard to find in europe, especially cheap ones.

In the future i'm planning on getting a belt too. Not sure if it'll be a regular "battle belt" or a molle belt like the suregrip.
>>
>>34822827

That a Mayflower UW? How are you liking it?
>>
>>34821425
Are there plates in that carrier? It seems a little thin. I might just be out of touch with the latest stuff on the market considering I've only owned old school AR500 steel plates and sold those to some 19 year old airshitter for twice what I paid for them about five years ago.
>>
>>34823106

Iz breddy good lad. Make sure you put quality shit in your IFAK. Don't be a faggot and put random bs in it
>>
>>34823123

Either empty or curved steel plates for the picture. Its hot as fuck here so fuck wearing that under the chest rig for side MOLLE
>>
So... what exactly is in Velocity System's ShadoWorks section? I don't have the necessary certifications, but I've seen people talking on forums about ultra thin concealable plates and special concealable plate carriers. I figured you guys might know.
>>
>>34823141
Yeah, I went chest rig only a while back and haven't looked back. Fuck plates.
>>
>>34823124
Thanks, Yeah i'll work on my IFAK when i get a belt i think, not yet sure how i'm going to set up what i want.
I need to test things out first.
>>
>>34821865
Eh kinda, most cities are actually not as grey as everyone thinks. Overbuilt cities like NYC are actually super fruity and tan, and navy/black is fine for pretty much everything.

>>
>>34821425
I would suggest putting it on your belt or something if your chest rig doesn't have a good place for it.
>>34821865
Grey looks cool. Cities vary a lot in color. I am in Western NY. Buffalo is lots of red brick and rust, while Rochester is more cinderblock. Both have plants, though. I would stick with green or something like multicam and learn to use concealment.
>>34823106
It's a good start. Make sure that you are getting stuff to carry things after you have determined what you want to carry. It is way too easy to buy pouches and then look for things to fill them.
>>
>>34823227
I know i want to carry 4mags, two on my belt and two on my chest and two pistol mags too, at least thats what i think i'll do maybe i'll change my mind once i start toying with it.
Once thats done i'll work on an IFAK, a pistol holster, water and a radio and then random small things like maps, compas, knife etc.
>>
>>34823294
Ok. I would drop down to one extra pistol mag, unless you are doing pistol matches or something. CLS level first aid is just about idiot proof stuff and the training manuals are available all over. Do that in your down time.
Do you plan on carrying a small pack, or is this a clearing your house/tactical tendies acquisition rig?
>>
>>34823354
I'm planning on getting a pack when my belt and chest rig is done yes, haven't looked into what i'll put inside it yet.

It's mostly to be ready when we finaly get a civil war or something else, i'm like 5min away from a big forest so i can go innawoods when ever i want.

Ok. I suggest doing your thing in the woods, and seeing what you want to have on you. How is your bushcraft? Skills are weightless, so make sure that you pack them along with your snacks and assault clips.
>>
>>34823435
Yeah i still need to work on my skills, thanks for the tips.
>>
>>34823457
I like that you are thinking. There IFAK sticky here is decent. There are new TCCC guidelines to check into. I also suggest checking out a forum like bushcraft.com for survival skills. They leave the tactical Timmy stuff out most of the time, even if they have their own weird snobbery issues.

Almost forgot. Why TACOs? I like them because I use several different rifles that make dedicated mag pouches a bad idea. That said, if you are only using one kind of rifle, I suggest dedicated pouches.
>>
>>34823113
Yeah I like it so far, haven't had a chance to bring it on anything multi-day yet. But ive taken it on a few runs and what not, and no problems.
>>
>>34823537
Because i own a VZ58 right now and will own a FAL soon and wont own an AR15 for some time because they are 1000€ at the bare minimum here and i'd rather buy ammo and cheaper guns until i'm out of college.

So i think it's a good idea + i like the fact that i can just grab them without having to open things etc..

Or is there a better option i haven't read/heard about for VZ58/AK mags?

So is Cubano Cortes really that good? I'm seriously considering it, absolutely great price (5k rubles, ffs), specs seem fine and reviews are positive. Shipping prize is also pretty based to my country.

Is it like with everything Russian - pain in the ass while using it, yet it holds forever and usually delivers?
>>
>>34823588
Again, I am struck by the fact that you actually thought things through. Don't rush to the AR if it is a utilitarian purpose. They are fine weapons, but so is what you have.
If there are perfect AK pouches out there, I have not used them.
Go ahead and disregard my suggestion of bushcraft.com. They are pretty focused on the US and Canada. I am sure you can find better resources for your area.

The velcro on current-production "original" Mechanix gloves sucks.
Their "utility" gloves have better velcro, are less expensive, and have the closure on the back of the wrist so it doesn't snag on shit all the time.

Worth it IMO. Load carriage is the most important aspect of a pack, and very few companies design bags that carry well, let alone as well as MR. Their domestic stuff is expensive because, well, it's made in the US, and their overseas stuff is reasonably priced. I've yet to find a bag that carries as well, and MR makes some very nifty and absurdly specific bag designs.

Got Mpact 3, I think three years back. About half a year of outdoor military work, rest of it in public relations (ie: civilian security). They hold rather well, but the velcro is close to be non-existant and opens with the slightest movement. They also are less and less comfortable over the time, which I cannot explain.

I would like to have similar, more heavier gloves again, but I don't wanna go full armored mode, since I want to use them comfortably at range as well. Can someone please help me to pick some?

If you like TACOs, fine. Don't bother with those gloves, though. They're garbage. Just find any decent work glove in a subdued or "tactical" color and spot-paint wear necessary. I've used CTC and Milwaukee Tools in the past. All modern (light) work gloves look like that now, which is why you're buying them, because they look cool.

I have not been impressed by magpul's fabric products. I have a pair of their pants where my spare glock mag keeps wearing holes through the pockets within 3 or 4 months of use. Not even my $20 chinashit BDU pants (pic related) have glock mag wear and I've had them for years

its literally just one layer of 50/50 nyco is feels like wearing a baggy bdu coat over clothing. It's not heavy. Smalls are really common in surplus stores and online. the one i have in that picture is a large regular thats been cut at the belt line. The sleeves are fuck huge and it fits really losely. I wear large regular bdus and a small parka would fit like a normal jacket would. i gave the small to my girlfriend who wears a small and its too big for her.

They are good shit, ask A2 as well, its non restricted so its above the .07mw lasers, I usually dont use it on the highest setting because it will bloom the target out a bit but its cool to use still. Only negative is no integrated IR illuminator like an Atipal but a Surefire Vampire IR will alleviate that and provide better illumination that an Atipal.

The USMC, despite their desperation to be the specialest snowflakes in the military, actually was the only branch to have their shit together when researching their new camouflage pattern in the early 2000s. They built off of what the Canadians had done and came up with the coyote coloration used in USMC TA50. The color is also the most abundant color used in BOTH the woodland and desert MARPAT camouflage patterns. It is effective in multiple environments and seasons.

The problem with greens in concealment is that they are limited to best concealing among live vegetation. Brown is abundant in all seasons and in most regions on earth. It blends in with mud, sand, bark, grass, leaves, rocks, etc.

I'm tempted to go full Flecktarn but taco doesn't make mag pouches in that camo.

I'm thinking about getting taco pouches in woodland or olive or trying out the lindnerhof taktik multi calbre pouches. Or i could just mix multicam and flecktarn but i'm not sure how it'll turn out.

If you're buying from CTOMS, try to find literally anyone else to buy from first. I love CTOMS for stocking Crye legit but they markup a ton. They were convenient getting Tropic Cryes since they had some in stock and Crye is STILL backed up from USSOCOM order iirc but the markup is almost up to 15% some times.

M81 is measurably less effective than most other green dominant patterns.
>>
>>34839205
[citation needed]
Disruptive camo is only effective to a certain point anyways. using flat colors is dumb but beyond that you literally need fake foliage strapped to you (if available).
>>
>>34839196
I'm mostly tempted by flecktarn because i live in Belgium so our forests look pretty much like german ones. On the other hand Belgian SOF wear multicam so i guess it's ok for our environement.
No really sure what to pick.

>Disruptive camo is only effective to a certain point anyways.
Yeah, that's true. Regardless, it's effectiveness is measurable and modern green dominant patterns like multicam tropic, marpat woodland, and atacs fg are superior to 20th century patterns. They integrate macro and micro patterns to increase their effectiveness at all ranges.

BAHAHAHA. Holy shit my sides that was a great warmup right before the morning run.
I agree Woodland is very dated and there are far better camouflages out there. For larping pick aesthetics and kit accuracy anyways but holy shit when you said measurably less effective I was hoping you might actually have a good source or something worth reading.
>>
>>34839366
>he doesn't know that camo works in real life exactly like it does in MGS3
>>
>>34839366
I didn't provide the source. The point is, the US army did test M81 against a number of competitors and found it to be inferior. This test was mirrored by the Marine Corps' tests in the late 90s. It was the reason that they developed marpat. You're acting like camouflage effectiveness is spooky magic that can't be understood by armies and hasn't been improved in the last 40 years.
