So a friend of a friend is trying to sell some guns he inherited from his dad, I'm trying to figure out what this revolver is and whether or not I want to buy it
>>34820276
Looks like an early double action Colt. Looks a lot like an 1878 Colt double action.
>>34820276
Any chance of a pic of the other side?
>>34820316
Here's a picture of the other side. Don't really see any manufacturer markings on it
>>34820316
That's what it is
>>34820331
>>34820316
Think you are right. /K/ does it again. Pic is one of the single action army's I'm going to buy
He just sent me some more pics if you all wouldn't mind
>>34820400
Spanish "Ruby" pistol.
>>34820342
>one of
Are you trolling us Anon?
>>34820342
That SAA is probably black powder only. You don't want it. Send it to me.
>>34820330
Grips don't look to be original. 7.5" barrel?
>>34820424
He's selling 2 I'm buying 2
>>34820437
Yeah don't think they are the original grips but he doesn't know what he's sitting on so I'm going to be getting a steal. He's also got an Astra model 400
>>34820448
U.S. marked first gen 1. been nickled and what not but if the price is right you may have scored big.
>>34820461
how man digits in the serial numbers of those SAAs?
>>34820461
Im trying to pick up both for 700 like I said the dude has no idea what they are worth but he needs cash
>>34820469
Ok P.T. Barnum, we want to know more and how this works out.
>>34820469
Jesus fucking christ. At least take the man out for dinner first
>>34820479
I'm going over to look at them this afternoon hopefully I'll be walking away with a steal
>>34820483
Then go to confession.
>>34820483
Im buying him a case of beer if that helps
>>34820504
>Father forgive me for I have sinned
>I ruthlessly fucked a man in the ass yesterday
>No father, no lube
>>34820456
Astra in 9mm Largo?
>>34820523
>Say 10 Hail Mary's, 10 Our Father's
>and give me his phone number
>>34820573
I believe so. I kind of want it just because the model 400 is interesting
>>34820523
Is it really rape if they don't know they're getting raped?
>>34820624
Mechanically interesting. Supposedly multicaliber capable.
What's the marking on the barrel/slide?
>>34820689
Not sure, I'm going to look at them later
>>34820400
That safety
Peu Peu
Bumping for when I get back
How is it that people own things like Colt 1878s, Astra 400s, and multiple legit Colt SAAs and have no idea what they are and not have any interest in them? Meanwhile, most of people on /k/ would literally kill people to get our hands on some of this stuff.
>>34822841
one mans trash, anon
>>34822841
My greatest fear is that if I get hit by a bus, my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them.
>>34820517
Are you helping him drink that beer Anon?
>>34823078
Have a friend you trust help her sell them. Friend must be as knowledgeable as you about guns. Willed him one of the guns he's drooling over.
>>34824076
So just got back from looking at the guns, bought 2 colt single action army's for 800 bucks, one of them a first gen. Unfortunately the first gen won't cock but I'm going to take it apart tomorrow and figure it out
>>34820689
Not sure about the markings they were pretty worn down
IF SHIT GETS CRAZY IN THIS THREAD PUT ME IN THE CAP PLOX
>>34826574
Is 2 legit saa's for 800 not crazy enough for you anon?
>>34820689
will take largo or 38acp, maybe 9mm steyer, not sure on the last
>inb4 TIGR
>>34820276
>>>34826574
>Is 2 legit saa's for 800 not crazy enough for you anon?
I want another wild ride like from inheritance-anon
Here's my 2 saa's
>>34826713
The first gen is dfc stamped
>>34826713
Sweet guns anon
Get some nice leather dual holsters for them
Be nice for OC rallies
>>34820400
An Eibar Ruby in .32 most likely.
That's pretty okay for the age it probably is.
How much does he want?
It's worth around $250/300 depending on the bore.
>>34826790
I want to swap out the grips and fix whatever is wrong with the one before I do anything. Can't complain though considering I snagged about 8000 worth of gun for 800
>>34826806
Bore was fine but I didn't have much interest in it. It's a neat historical piece but that's about it
>>34826713
Those are both first gen. The cross bolt base pin release wasn't until SN 140,000.
>>34826766
Legit military inspector marks. The nickel finish was not original though.
>>34826766
...and SN mis match. Still 800 bucks is a steal. Especially if you get them shooting. I would be careful about what loads I used. BP era guns after all.
Hey Anon, do you live in Commiefornia? I was thinking that those guns may have been made up as movie guns.

>>34820424
>hai guise my dad just died and he gave me all these super-rare guns as inheritance
I want to get off Mr. Anon's wild ride
>>34829735
Well shit, another thread to save
Op here again Im trying to talk the guy into taking me out to his dad's place soon, I guess he's a hoarder and has about 5 acres packed full of shit. He's got some more guns too, hopefully I can talk him into parting with something neat. He had a bunch of Nazi silver that I'm assuming his grandfather brought back as spoils of war
>>34830470
Found some old WW2 pictures and a 1910 100 reichsbank note in a old holster
So I took the locked up saa all the way apart, reassembled it and it still won't cycle all the way. It works fine until I put in the cylinder and base pin. Not sure what's wrong with it, I tried swapping the cylinder from the other pistol and it does the same thing. Should I take it to a gunsmith or do any anons have some advice?
