That was my original though. But I have never seen a simunition casing in a calibre larger than 9mm. Does the part in the neck allow them to have a smaller charge in a larger casing? Therefore being safer?

Its 5,56 simunition. German KSK use Them
Among other forces - They sting remarkably more than 9mm. I was shot 4 times on my left knuckles when They raided our compound on an exercise a few years back

It's 5.56, the extending neck is there so it can be loaded into blank mags which won't accept live ammo.

Not always. A shooting school I like asked me if I would be a roleplayer for their simms house. I've done the class once, and roleplayed about 6 times.

Simms are funny, they can break skin, leave pretty rough welts and bruises, and inflict the sort of injury that makes you need to take a second (pic related).

Other times though, you barely feel them. You know you've been hit, and there's a paint mark, but it was painless. My standard simms outfit is basically an old polo shirt, 5.11 pants, and some sneakers. I dumped all the jackets and sweatshirts after the 2nd time roleplaying (to be clear, I wear the facemask/helmet/neck guard). The wives of the roleplayers hate that we do this, and get freaked about the welts.

Simms are insanely educational. If you find a place that offers a simms class, take it. It will absolutely change your perspective on gunfighting and self defense when done properly. It's not paintball, you have to treat it like it's real, so many simms events are based around when not to shoot. We've done pretty cool stuff.
