Caseless ammo will never be feasible in a repeating weapon because the cartridges are too delicate, too vulnerable to the environment, and too difficult to extract from the weapon in the field if(when) they fail. PCTA on the other hand is probably the way we'll end up going, unless some breakthrough in batteries and superconductors allows us to jump straight to railguns.
