.32ACP is very low recoil while the basic FMJ load will easily hit 12"+ of penetration.

It's easy to shoot in small defensive pistols and insanely easy to shoot in service pistols that people can make accurate shots. It's why it was a popular service cartridge prior to WW2.

.32ACP is criminally underrated for a carry gun, and so many quality service pistols are chambered in it.

My family has always used 2oz magnum turkey load. Not a whole lot of spread so most shots hit where you're aiming especially from a home defense range. Blast a hole in someone's chest big enough for a grizzly bear to fuck

It's a target bullet because of it's match accuracy, it would still blow a varmint apart with it's 2,800 ft lbs. It's not suitable for deer because shortly after penetrating the AMAX bullet will explode, destroying meat. The deer will still die, it's just a waste of meat and inefficient.
