Why don't we just drops massive shipments of arms, food, and medical supplies onto major nork cities?
This would:
1. Highlight the impotency of their government
2. Help to counteract years of brainwashing propoganda about the "evil west"
3. Potentially lead to revolutionary terror atracks and maybe even a full blown insurgency (all it takes is one pissed off farmer to pick up a gun and you have yourself a freedom fighter)
Why has no one thought of this?
>>
Seized by the military about a minute after they fall down and sold off to finance the regime.
>>
>>34813667
>nork government seizes all supplies
>uses them against the rest of the world
golly, that sure showed them
>>
>>34813667
>Why don't we just drops massive shipments of arms, food, and medical supplies onto major nork cities?
What if they think it's an attack?
>>
They'll just say it wayto piggu poison food and confiscate every thing then rebrand them such that it'll show that king kim made them all by himself.
>>
>>34813667
>Why has no one thought of this?
because the people are so fanatical it wouldn't help at all.
>>
>>34813681
Announce the planes as mercy flights delivering much needed supplies to the "oppressed people of North Korea". If they shoot those down they'll be at fault.
>>
>>34813673
But they won't be able to get it all. If we drop ten thousand guns and even 2 precent of them make their way into the hands of civilians it could be enough to at least disrupt normal military operations, further displaying the impotency of the nork government and potentially inspiring more people to fight.
>>
>>34813691
Are they really though? Or are they just so used to their slavery that they don't care anymore? A gun is a powerful thing, anon. Give an enslaved man a choice between a minute of freedom and rage against his captors, or the rest of his life in servitude, and he very well may choose the former.
>>
>>34813667
If it doesn't work, we just fired money at them
If it works, they would probably go nuclear anyway
The regime cares about the regime, not about North Korea.
>>
>>34813810
nah, they've believed their whole lives that they have it better than us and that the government and by extension kim is the god emperor of mankind
>>
>>34813667
They would immediately thank their glorious leader for the gifts from the sky, then get shot.
>>
>>34813833
What about the people who've defected? They obviously believed their government was evil, how do we know there's not more like them who simply don't have the stregth, will, or courage to make a run for the border but DO have the strength, will, or courage to sit up on a mountain top and blow off an officer's head from 1/4 of a mile away from the relative comfort of a snipers nest?
>>
Pretty much every one of the several reasons given is valid. Your plan sucks
>>
What if we just loudly played kpop music at them until they surrender?
>>
>>34813948
Don't the South Koreans already do that?
>>
>>34813667
Yea lets just give North Korea bundles of supplies yea that will show them.
>>
>>34813774
This is so obviously a dumb idea that I'm not even going to bother examining why it's a dumb idea
>>
I think the army should just draft prison inmates and send them as the first wave of the attack. And they should air drop porn on the major population centers.
>>
This would only work if:

>currently engaged in combat
>army keeps the goods for itself
>>
>>34813667
>massive shipments of arms, food, and medical supplies onto major nork cities?
Probably because the United States has no real interested in the welfare of the North Korean people -- who aren't starving anymore, by the way. I don't know what their medical situation is like, but I'd imagine they are largely covered on the basics. The US just wants another country to pile debt on, sell Nikes to, and stripe mine for rare earths.
>>
>>34813927
That reminds me.

What does south korea do with north korean civilians or military personals that have either defected or escaped from north korea into their country?

What happens to those that got to other countries besides south korea? Do they just send them back or what?
>>
>>34813755
>Dropping arms
>much needed supplies to the "oppressed people of NK"
>If they shoot down planes loaded with guns meant to arm an insurgency against a sovereign gov they're at fault
OK.

>>34813774
2% of 10k is 200. That will literally do nothing.
>>
>>34814151
>What does south korea do with north korean civilians or military personals that have either defected or escaped from north korea into their country?

Debrief them, reeducate them, give them a halfway home and some money and let them live their lives in peace.

>An estimated 30,000 North Korean defectors live in South Korea today, according to the South Korean government. After defectors arrive, the government trains them in social customs and job skills, and gives resettlement payments to assist with housing and education costs. NewsHour Weekend Special Correspondent Karla Murthy looks at several of their stories.

Which is full of shit again

The only reaso THOSEget to stay is because they agreed to an agreement that they will accept full monitoring and under surveillance by the government of south korea and they have to show full support for south koreansgovernment and sign up for the drafting in case they need more bodily men and women to serve in south korean military but you don't hear any of this because they have to agree on no disclosure of any of this or they risk lifetime imprisonment or being sent back to north korea.

Also they don't have the right to vote or other types of liberties such as south koreans do.

The other anons are correct that most who make it to SK are debriefed, and then go to basically a school to teach them how to live in a real country, and then get money and assistance to live on their own.
Most that escape however escape to China, where they are used like Mexican labour in the southern US. The Chinese government though basically gives the middle finger to the international treaties regarding refugees, and any the authorities catch are deported back to NK to die in labour camps.

They have an airforce, a shitty one but they have it. Don't be dumb. Unarmed transports would be met by MiG-17s, -21s, and -29s, and protecting said transports from said fighters would just begin war. Not to mention non-radar AAA weapons which cannot be jammed but still pose a threat to easy-to-hit fat cargo planes

>>34814198

What was 9/11, nigger?

The idea would probably work best if you just send so many planes that any aggression would lead to a massive clusterfuck that would end North Korea. They need to sit and wait, hoping nothing happens and then it rains fucking supplies. Combine this with a PsyOp effort with regular western people sending heartwarming messages and photographs along the supplies to remind the NORK population that we care about them and that their misery can end overnight. There is a reason NORK gov keeps its people isolated like this, if they had any real western contact they'd have a revolution on their hands.

Were already at war with the norks. If they want to shoot down cargo planes full of food and medicine (and maybe a couple guns that may or may not be in there) than they will have to deal with the international fallout.

Google "Hanawon".

What's being missed by OP and supporters is the Asian society over individual mindset.

It's much rarer to see an Asian (in Asia), break out from the behaviour of their peers. If everyone is under the thumb, that's how it stays.

Sorry I can't go into more detail, on my phone at work.

>If they want to shoot down cargo planes full of food and medicine (and maybe a couple guns that may or may not be in there) than they will have to deal with the international fallout.
Are these escorts going to be killing SAM sites then? Why not replace the cargo planes with bombers, that way more planes make it.

>>
>>34816707
This.
Flying over food/medical supply drops would require neutralizing AA first to clear paths for cargo planes, which would trigger immediate retaliation from the Norks. This pathetically ill thought out attempt to avoid a direct war would start one as quick as a conventional plan would, but leave US/SK totally unprepared. retarded idea from the outset.

South Koreans have been air-dropping food, DVDs, leaflets, music, etc. for years.

Choco-pies have apparently become a sort of black market currency in North Korea.

>bombing" of North Korea
I'm on board but how will this kill North Korean civilians
>>
A few years ago there was a pretty bad famine in North Korea and the UN was eventually allowed to deliver a few ship loads of rice sacks labed UN aid. NK soldiers helped unload the shipment to the quay then immediately repackaged the rice in new sack labeled 'a generous gift from your glorious leader'. UN didn't care, of course - its not like they will run out of places to supply with free stuff. But it says a lot about the regime's methods.

Offer top brass, include the Kim family, immunity. Give them enough money to live in luxury for themselves as well as their sons and daughters.

Let them move out of NK to western countries to live the rest of their lives in peace. Costs few billion at best.

The conflict with NK is not about winning a war or removing Kim. It's about having an ongoing boogey man.

If the west really want NK's people to live a better lives, end the sanctions. NK was not bad before the mid 70s. It wend down hill after 70s because it lost its trade partner the Soviets and could not get any western aligned nations to trade with them. Then we hit them with one crippling sanctions after the next.

The thing with NK is never about "the good of their people" nor "removing Kim". It's about keeping a political bait alive. The more horrid NK's people suffer, the better.

US did the same shit on China before China developed nukes. Chairman Mao basically said fuck you US and hunkered down and got his nukes. Both Soviet and US didn't want China to have nukes so for the country to get it, both fission and fusion, is quite impressive.

After China ignited hydrogen bomb, US re-established normal diplomatic relations with China.

On the international stage, might is right, there's no such thing as "morality". You have the big guns, you have chips on the bargaining table.

>>
>>34813691
Not even close to true now. The top 0.1% living in Pyongyang and maybe some military volunteers might be full patriotic, but the common people are getting fed up with their situation. As long as they don't express bad political views or have contraband they typically won't get disappeared anymore. Smuggled footage even shows some people bitching at and pushing around local officials without punishment.
