You see, the US has overwhelming air superiority. Fixed-wing aircraft don't stand a chance, and Tor/OSA are total overkill for shooting down hobbyist drones with mortar rounds strapped to them or the odd 40 year old cargo helicopter.

The US has the world's best air force, so their air force beats any other, negating the need for advanced AA systems. Contrast the Soviets who've always been on the back foot, and just look at how much effort they put into AA systems

Aegis shows the USA is perfectly capable of making a capable land based SAM system if it needed it.
