CAN YOU REPEAT THAT QUESTION!!
>>34809137
Absolutely.
I can personally attest. Pic related. Money where my mouth is.

I don't know as of recently, but in 2013 and 2014 I bought a Marlington 336 and an 870 express. Both had completely shit finishes that collected rust like a motherfucker just from sitting around. I'd clean them, put them away and 3 days later rust on the receiver.
Fuckin ridiculous and made be permanently boycott anything marlin or remington made after 2000.
Both functioned reliably though.
Shotgun ammo is still good

Choose one not both.
Are you spending more than $700-800 on the gun?
>yes
Are you spending less than $700-800?
>God no

And this is where I insert my story about my Sendero, a $1200 rifle, that was totally fucked in just about every way imaginable from the factory and Remington told me to pound sand when I sent it in for warranty work.
>>34809137
>knew about a trigger defect in the 700 since 1948
>rejected it because it would increase the price by 5.5 cents
>continued to deny it existed or even fix it for over 60 years
No, Remington has never had its shit together.

How much are they paying you to pretend to be a fanboy?
I picked up a 1911 R1 during the mail-in rebate and I really wish I had just gone for a Rock Island instead. This steaming turd isn't just the most unreliable gun I've ever owned, but it even came with specks of rust right out of the box - Too bad I couldn't see them under the slathering of what's probably Remington's useless Remoil all over the thing when I got it.

Not risking it, my go to bolt action is the fn spr now, it already comes with a mcmillan stock

>collected rust on the receiver after a few days of sitting
I've gotten some on my barrel before but fuck me that's bad.
winchester and browning still make and sell guns. there's literally no reason to buy anything from any company cerberus owns
