Come in for the outrage, stay for the schadenfraude, folks
1st for should have stuck with Beretta
sound and fury signifying nothing. product recalls are an every day occurrence.

That TTAG drop test looks horrifically unsafe. Id be tossing that thing over a barrier like I was tossing a grenade

They are probably using blanks. Nobody would be stupid enough to willingly stand in a room with live ammo flying in random directions.

you underestimate human stupidity. do so at your own peril.

But someone was dumb enough to hold a book up to their chest and allow someone to shoot them with a deagle thinking the book was bullet proof...

JUST
>>34806621
That's a weird way to spell H&K
>>34806789
of course not. the video is irrelevant. the product has either a design flaw or a manufacturing flaw. so fucking what. they'll fix it and fulfill their contract.
a product recall does not mean the end of the company or even the product line.
pic related, dumb fuck.
>>34806789
Just the cut of it from the OPs video, not the full thing.
I don't see why it matters. I've seen everything I needed to see to confidently say that adopting the Sig was a mistake. And before anything, no I do not think the Glock would have been the best choice either.
>>34806813
>a product recall does not mean the end of the company or even the product line.
Of course it doesn't, yet that doesn't excuse the fact that the ink hasn't even dried on the contracts and we are already seeing critical issues with the guns. Colt and their 1911s did not have these issues. Beretta and their M9s did not have these issues. Forgive me if my faith in Sig is shaken after they failed to meet standards set well over a century ago.
>>34806813
AR500 had a recall?!

I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt but a quick google search also shows random anecdotal evidence of all the guns you listed going off when dropped at some obscure angle or something. Soooo, you are a literal dunce
>>34806605
Wait they actually dropped it by hand? I thought they used a machine, you couldn't pay me enough to be in that room

why should i sign this petition?
>>34810853
the M17 apparently doesn't have that problem, the petition should be for the previous gen P320s
>>34810853
Armys sigs are drop safe due to the trigger weights.
>>34811060
Nigger they are releasing the striker by hitting it with a hammer, thats not enough inertia to move the trigger back.

Melt guns?
>>34806896
both the Colt and the Beretta had serious issues early in their adoption. almost all military equipment does.

JUST. RECALL. THE. GUNS
Fucking Christ, don't wrap it up pretty just issue a recall and call it a day instead of pussyfooting around shit is already fucked.
>>34810853
No way you fuckin pinko
BLUNDER OF THE CENTURY
>>34806605
That picture...
I've been trashing SIG since they put fake numbers on their ammo and refused to recall it.
>>34818988
Oh and it didn't help the slide on my new 938 started locking back randomly at the same time.
I'll say it once, "Cohen".
>>34818733
KEK
saved
>>34806896
>Beretta and their M9s did not have these issues.
Lmao are you serious? They were fucking exploding when the were first adopted.
>>34819056
No, the slides were breaking after extensive use. It wasn't an out of the box defect and modifying the hammer pin fixed this issue, which is something they did immediately upon learning of it if i'm not mistaken.
>>34806605
>Gun has been out for years
>People just finding this stuff out now
>>34819439
Well, that actually speaks really highly of how responsively guns are handled in general.
>>34817856
Seriously this. Is sig legally liable if you didn't take a voluntary upgrade? It has a different implication to a recall
>>34819461
This is an excellent point
>>34819461
>responsively
>>34806605
RIP PIG P320
>>34819001
the slide locked by on my brand new g43 when I first got it, find an ammo the gun likes. My 320 and 226 chew through my stockpile of yavex ammo but heaven forbid I put it in my g17 or 43, won't even fire sometimes.
>>34819439
most people don't try to bottle flip their new guns
>>34823746
>really want to try to flip my gun into my holster now
>>34806605
>It has to land right on the hammer, with the hammer down
Glock fags are fucking desperate aren't they
>>34819677
they aren't legally liable because the gun technically passed all safety test by military, US and other foreign bodies.
>>34811716
>not BRAAAP
>>34821053
where can get
>>34823736
Negative, the slide stop was coming out of place. It was most likely due to a it being a tiny gun, me being left handed and the other end of the slide stop sticking a half a mile out the side of the frame. It's possible I was inadvertently pressing it with my grip. That or the slide stop spring was bent at some point during cleaning which is a common known problem with the design. Either way, fault of the design of the gun.
>>34807277
They've had 7, 2 of which leading to product discontinuation. In just the last 5 years.
Basically nothing they've sold hasn't been recalled at least once.
>>34819414
>35,000-50,000 rounds
>extensive use
That's like 2 years of service.
And the slides weren't just breaking, they were flying off the frame and taking peoples' eyes/noses/teeth out.
And it took them TWENTY FUCKING YEARS to fix all of them, which simply required replacing a single part.
>defect discovered 1987
>last US military pistol "upgraded" in 2008
M9 slide separation was caused by tellurium contamination in a batch of steel being used by Beretta for their early M9s and M92s, making the guns too brittle for NATO spec ammo. As soon as a new batch of steel was used, the problems disappeared, although Beretta still went back and beefed up areas that proved to be prone to stress fractures. With all that said, the M9 was always a well engineered gun, the problem was in quality control.
This is opposed to the Sig, which suffers from engineering oversights. The design itself has a fairly fatal flaw right out of the factory, even when it's build completely up to spec. There is no wiggle room to blame a third party steel mill or out of spec parts. Sig engineers fucked up, plain and simple. If basic civilian testing came up with this kind of flaw, I can only imagine what other oversights will be exposed through actual military torture in the years to come.
